A knock-on of having Chair in the middle is that it enables Saito to track back and support Paal on defence, which he did really well in the first half (not so well in the second when he gave away the pen!) Still that's something Chair never seemed comfortable with, consequently Paal seemed a better player last night than in recent matches. |

I just don't get why Madsen has seemed so unwilling to do what it takes. He's really blown a chance here, because if you look at where we are despite our appalling start to the season you can see that thee's plenty of potential here but he's p*ssed away the chance to be the main man in this side.
I doubt he's "unwilling," he just doesn't play the game that way, and probably can't. The Championship is pretty high tempo, as upper level European leagues go. A player like, for example, Smyth does well with a relatively minimal skill-set, but likely wouldn't crack on in the Portuguese or Dutch leagues for example. Madsen is the opposite. |

Koki's defensive work has come on like dambusters recently, he's been excellent at both ends of the pitch so far tonight. |

Yup. I'm always amused that the referee when we win is very decent and when we lose is arm-waving incompetent fool, or timid incompetent. |

Love Koki to bits, but I think were using him the right way. He hasn't convinced yet when given longer than 45 minutes. Second half against a tired, lumbering, back-line is made for him.
I wonder Morgan isn't more of Chair substitute, should one be needed? Or possibly Dembele once we get a proper look at him. |
