I thought that Redmond had a decent game, as you said he had an assist for the goal and he is a player who is usually involved when we score goals, he has an end product, yet some can't give him any credit, even when we have had a good result |

With most early ratings giving at least 7/10 why is Shane Long the lowest rated at 6.6, he only had 5 mins plus injury time, but he won the ball held it up and took the sting out of the last few minutes, he didn't put a foot wrong in my opinion, yet some can't be charitable even after a great victory |

I think sometimes we need to look at the ratings reports, 7 should be the average score with 8 for a good game, 9 for a great game and 10 for an outstanding game.
How Forster and Lumina can only average 7 is a mystery, likewise Long and Redmond who worked hard to defend from the front and attack on the break, perhaps they didn't look like scoring but theirs was a thankless task to keep chasing the ball for often no reward, to give them 5 is either showing a complete lack of football knowledge or just plain bias. |

Why would it be a brave person who predicts we wont be in a relegation scrap, Brighton, Newcastle and Huddersfield have all had good starts to the season so to get a point away at two of them isnt bad, yes we are playing terrible at the moment, but we are still in the top ten we are nearer the top six than we are the bottom three.
I look at the ratings on here and sometimes wonder what people are thinking, it always seems to be the same players get the same low ratings no matter what they do.
Forster gets 3.6 at time of writing, some say he should have saved the goal, maybe , maybe not, it wasn't a big blunder though and apart from that he came and caught the crosses well and otherwise did nothing wrong.
Redmond gets 3.8, he had 18 minutes on the pitch, did nothing wrong and his arrival coincided with us starting to keep the ball and push Brighton back, he didnt put in any match winning crosses, but neither did he do too much wrong, yet some cant see past the red mist that envelopes them every time his name is mentioned, certainly not the man who stood in front of me yesterday who screamed abuse at him and ironically applauded if he crossed the ball.
Not the best ever match, not the best ever performance, but it is always the same players who get slated if we fail to win and get no praise if we do, |

If you are going to press high up the field and commit players to attack then you have to be confident of being able to defend against teams that can come at you at sped on the counter, can we say we are confident of that at the moment ?
Lemina in the side will help that and get Hoedt in and it will make a big difference, get Van Dijk in as well and we will be a decent side |

Not sure why so many people have it in for JWP, in a game like this his ability to pass the ball both short and long can be a real asset and I don't think a lot of people realise that and just slag him off whatever the result.
Now we have Gabbiadini the midfield have someone to pass to and this could benefit JWP who too often has to go sideways because there is no option forwards |

Having had the benefit of TV replay two points to note, firstly Forster did the right thing and would have smothered the ball had Gardos not cleared, Gardos was doing the positive thing he was just unlucky that it hit Gouffran who got lucky because he hadn't really tried to get the through ball, he had given up on I.
Secondly the penalty was nailed on Fonte although at close range stuck his hand out to stop it, when the guy shot his hand was by his side then he stuck it up, sorry nailed on penalty, however it is about time we had Some luck lol |

Contary to the belief of some, Im not that great a fan of Fox, but I find myself sticking up for him just because of the pack mentality that surrounds him, on Saturday he did well and perhaps lostboys would like to consider that the times he looked dreadful was the times he found himself exposed due to Adam lallana not covering back.
In Fridays preview I was lambasted for daring to suggest that Pochettino might not automatically put Shaw straight back in the team, personally I thought that maybe he should have, but the manager made the decision not me and it turned out to work |

forallthesaints makes a valid point without realising it, saying Fox gave everyone a free go down the right whilst lallana barely got involved, does that not say something about the lack of cover fox has every week, you cannot face teams with the width and pace of Arsenal unless you have proper wide men covering their runs both our full backs got exposed time and time again |

I agree with your analysis, however the players clearly are playing to system they are told to do, this involves plenty of 40 yard balls and crosses, most of which last night went astray (not just from fox I would add)
The first half shouted one thing at me, our system has stifled passion and urgency, the players with it were those like Puncheon who had a point to prove |
