Laudrup is like Turkish bread. Wonderful for a period but no shelf life. What a great first season though. De Guzman was a bottle carrier always on the move collecting on the move and delivering on the move to similarly mobile Dyer Routledge and Hernandez.
I am not football expert but it seems to me Swansea still pass but have no runners and pass from on static player to another static player. Movement creates space and Williams s team does not run very much.
Abdullai is the closest thing to De Guzman and is out of the picture.
Cardiff city have improved significantly over the last three weeks. Swans are in for a tough examination.
EFL will not block it. The main hurdle was Eufa and it seems that FAW have been given the nod. Welsh teams ars the peasants in the English system as seen in the pathetic effort on Saturday evening.
A bigger issue for fair play is investment in women's teams. Teams with no women's s team have an unfair advantage.
Most posters on here see Europe as a disadvantage due to the extra workload. Why would Birch and go be worried about Welsh teams playing extra games?.
Jenkins got Swansea to the Premier league and gost the club by staying loyal to a weak recruitment team. Jenkins wasxat his best with a strong conviction manager like Brendan and Martinez Potter. He was weakest with pliant managers who accepted what they were given. Clement, Monk, early Sousa etc. Martinez was under pressure to sign a shot Hartson but was strong enough to reject sentiment. Neither he nor Brendan would have approved Bony 2 Clucas Sanches Eder Franck Borja etc
I thought MPH looked the only Swansea player with the physique to match Southampton players. .
Swansea have trouble attracting quality player who prefer WBA Stoke and even Bristol City these days.
The lure of European football would change all that. I believe Euro football would appeal to many young footballers who do not want to relocate to Europe or Scotland. I am a sceptic but if EUFA have given it the green light then it should be OK.
Swansea have only a 50:50 chance of getting there even as Wales s top team ATM.
Perhaps PSR is the problem. Offer more but kick the payment into 2027 so it does not count in that 3 year period. I hope the club does not sell the family silver from the U18. Brogan Popham for example.
That was the Trust s plan. You seem to agree with me that was absurd as well. They wanted to force the US people to buy their shares at the 2016 price pla us costs.
If the Tryst man was indulged he should have resigned and replaced with someone with clout and prepared to show up and speak at forums.
Cooper wanted Gyorkeres out and Kieran Davis in costing a lot more.
Swansea cannot win . If the golden nugget is not ready they sent it back. What a finish by Whittaker. The football people are clueless about strikers with potential.
The reason is money and exposure. Americans think big and some Welsh think small. Welsh rugby midgets have a strategy of shrinkage. They will pay big money to move into a smaller stadium with no resources.
Wrexham. V Swansea for Euro games will get fans and TV coverage. Reynolds has invigorated Wrexham run into the ground by their Trust who struggled to pay the gas bill.
Then there is exposure for the advertisers. Extra for that especially if ion French Spanish or German TV. Possibly a new celebration.
Money pays the bills and allows for a bigger squad.
You are the nationalistic flag waver not me. Wales is a football anomaly not a UN state with a " national " football team. It is accepted as UK invested football over 120 years ago.
Welsh teams playing in the English leagues is also anomalous for the same reasons. Pragmatism over principles.
You are against this scheme but presumably favour Team GB. The principles are the same. I invite your to reject Team GB. Like the club deal it is an anomaly.
No footballers outside UK can represent two nations simultaneously.
You wear the flag and seemingly have no concerns about Team GB which is another anomaly. This notionally puts the FAW at risk.
Re reading the WoL account it seems FAW only need approval off the EPL.
£3m for the FAW. Not sure where the figures come from? .Americans and Malaysian owners and Huw all over it. Little timid Welsh living if in fear of English reaction.
I personally am not sure about this but Welsh football leaders want growth not " we know what we are" shrinkage being promoted ted by the rugby wimps.
Welsh teams have won English trophies only twice on their history. It was never a motivation to represent the English leagues. Few on here are anti Team GB.
It seems FAW have already got the nod off EUFA who forced the creation of the LoW in the first place. ( I was wrong about that it seems);
It is if no interest whatsoever to the EFL teams who are more upset about Ryan Reynolds and co.
Anti Welsh comments will go ahead for a year or two then back to normality of the 1980s.
I see the Euro adventure being good for content for " This is Wrexham". A thumping Welsh cup final Swansea v Wrexham live coast to coast USA. Oh yum yes please . Coleman and Reynolds. Andy would love an interview with 1573. Miami FM.
Then there will he the hilarious Euro trip to Dinamo Tirana in Albania where Reynolds has lunch at the Presidential Palace.
"with the four clubs also agreeing to exclude any profit derived from representing Wales in Europe from financial regulations in the EFL or English Premier League".
The wording does not mean Swansea would not make a profit from European games as far as I understand it. I suspect it means Swansea could not use that profit to get around PSR rules.
For example if Swansea made a £7m profit in Europe following 3 year loses of £34m the profits of Europe would be discounted with regard to the regulations and booked as £41m not £34m putting Swansea in contravention of the rules. Here to help.
Eufa will reject it unless they gave been seduced by the "Ryan Reynolds effect".
It was Eufa that railroaded FAW to set up the Welsh league in the face of local opposition.
It was Eufa who said. If you want a Euro spot you must have a league where the teams come from. It would be better for Coleman to buy up Llanelli and place 5-6 prospects in there instead of sending them on loan.
If Eufa throw it out it is reasonable to ask why Mooney did not test the water before going ahead.
I do not know if this is a potential route to the Champions league. Losing the English route to Europe is of no consequence.
AsI understand it if Swansea Cardiff or Wrexham c get into the latter stages and get big money then LoW are guaranteed a significant cut.
They have been bought up. Haverfordwest find it hard to find any profits for a trip to Dinamo Tblisi.
The issue was never agreement with LoW clubs or the EFL or EPL.Ths road block will be Eufa in Switzerland. If Mooney is any good he will have walked the corridors of power and got a wink or a thumbs up and a promise for Ryan Reynold to pour love into the Cantons if the Alps
They are all very inexperienced and young. Oldest being 19.
Richard Faayke is the oldest. He is big and powerful and in the Kevin Austin mould. Reasonable quick but beef rather than skill. Ash Williams did OK.
Jack Fanning and Brogan Popham are up from the U18. I have not seen them but both ars big lads 6 ft 2in + but only 17 and 18. Popham was linked to Premier league clubs a few months back.
Swansea moved on Brandon Cooper who Martin used on occasions. He signed for Leyton Orient. He was 20-21 and a bit more developed.
It is unfathomable why Williams did not start Abdullai and show some faith in the academy players.
Swansea make the same mistake every year of getting teenage centre backs who are not trusted. Rhys Williams 18. the Man city guy Burns 17 and now Abbey. What is the point?
Mr Williams has messed up. I was always dubious why Williams has never given his back up players a kick. Abbey had a difficult debut but has a decent CV and experience and simply needed game time. Guehi was awful when he arrived. I may as well be Ntoe an On.
They get Cristie on loan instead of a CB. The club is a contingency free zone.
Williams resents any claim they did not take the FA cup seriously. Who cares. The WBA s dalliance means Williams gets cut no slack. The Duff side brushed aside at CCS last season was the most boring side of have seen since Kenny Jackett played six centre backs in one game circa 2006.
Williams g has not developed back up in the long term absence of Lissah and Pederson. Chicken have come home to roost at the worst possible time.
The voice of the Trust would be respected if the person was respected.Levien made the issue of the Trust a major factor in their decision to sell up. Influence comes from respect not share holding.
The Trust could not force anything. They tried to force the US people to buy their shares despite being opposed to selling we hen they arrived.
I am glad you s now seem to agree with me that Cooper messed up Gyorkeres like Martin messed up Whittaker. Swansea incredibility seem to think Bianchini is better than Whittaker. These decisions were bad decisions by Cooper and Martin which the Levien group had to pay for. Made in Wales in one case.
The club is now on a game plan where it ripps up teams with short fast crisp passing except the players cannot pass under pressure.
