| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 19:31:19 Utter rubbish! The players should use their salaries to pay the families back who paid so much money for that diabolical example of entertainment. There was a guy with his wife and two daughters in front of me. How many hours work must he have done to pay for today's day out? Will they ever come again? Saints made Hull look far superior! And Hull were awful! What was the dressing room talk about? Puel asking which hotel in Dubai is the best? Their minds were certainly somewhere else. I feel sorry for Manolo. Puel set up the team to not supply Gambiadini with any telling balls then takes him off to put on Long who has forgotten how to score and they do not give him service either (he would miss anyway). What is the point? Puel spoke in the week about Boufall needing to be nurtured and that he needed time. This was Hull, the game was there for him to put in a masterclass but no he is just the same as he has been all season. Losing numerous ball and doing nothing then coming off does not justify £17 million whatever Puel says. But then, Puel takes him off and puts on Sims who also flatters to deceive and another player who loses the ball easily. Again, what is the point? The players and Puel should be embarrassed with that performance. You do win some, lose some, draw some but to show a total lack of eagerness to do anything and Puel showing inept tactics at Premiership level is tantamount to showing contempt to the fans and for the high profile job he has got. I just hope they can sit well on those Dubai beaches thinking back at today’s performance. But this is stupid, as they drive away in their brand new cars they have already forgotten about it. |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 21:40:17 The football at times on Saturday was a pleasure to watch where Saints were passing it around with ease. It seems they had focused more on that in the training sessions. In the first half, we were breaking through Bournemouth with ease. Now, it would be great to continue this summary of the game with more positives but without goals it is pointless. All we needed was to bring on Bill Murray to complete “Groundhog Dayâ€. I am sure Jay Rodriguez told Claude Puel when they first met that he was a forward; the sad thing is we need a goal scorer. Let’s forget “striker, forward, attacking midfielderâ€, players should add the prefix ‘goal scoring’ in front of their position if they really mean it!!. Primarily though, I just feel the fans thought we had got over this playing well and getting nothing. What must Gabbiadini have thought when he watched the match, watching those missed chances. One last mention goes out to those fans who once again left early. It was 0-0 and Saints had a chance. |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 15:41:50 First of all, I had a great day supporting the team with fellow fans at Wembley. The fans and the team were fantastic. My first thought from leaving was whether Manolo should have come off. Jose did not take off his best striker and look what happened. Manolo was the one who I feel wanted that winning goal more than anyone. We were chipping away at Utd and Claude did change things around when I could see the goal coming. This may have been Claude's big gamble. Would we had lost anyway or did his gamble not work? Saying that to give Zlatan that much space, the big man he is, is questionable. I guess that is Utd for you, they do not stop til the very end and get lucky. This is why most fans do not like them. They end up winning! That does not take anything away from Saints who just could not do it for the want of trying. I have the most respect for the team. However, I was a bit frustrated with Boufal, still up to his ballerina football. Just pass the ball, especially when the minutes are fading. It was also strange Puel put Rodriguez on having taken Manolo off. Manolo wanted that third more than anyone. Even taking Steven Davis off I thought was strange seeing as he was a driving force. Zlatan got man of the match, but to say it was deserved I would not say. The wall could have been better for the first and Forster could have got a hand to it. Zlatan was also not marked for the winner. As for action though and near chances, it was Saints all the way. I am proud of the team and all involved with regards to Saints. We March On with pride. |
