Marti interview in The Independent
at 17:45 21 Feb 2025

I think most are realistic that he’s unlikely to be here for the long term.
If we finish the season strongly I’d expect him to be gone in the summer once clubs deemed to have underperformed this season jettison managers and head coaches.
Be great if we could get another season out of him though.

Oh sorry I thought you were being disingenuous to push whatever agenda you have this week.

Apologies if this was not the case.

Hoos on Nourry
at 13:26 21 Feb 2025

You seem to have not read this large part of the BBC article:-

"With Christian, we've got a young, dynamic CEO who is very good," Hoos said, also citing Nourry's impressive understanding of data and analytics.
"As far as I'm concerned, he's been a really great appointment and the working relationship we've developed has been fantastic."

Leeds fans: the self proclaimed best fans in the country 😂
Not a sound out of them after Sunderland scored, no support for their team, no renditions of that dirge Marching On song they love, nothing. For about 40 minutes.
Then they equalise and suddenly Sky commentators are claiming their massive support has made the difference etc.

Can’t stand Leeds: hope we can feck up their promotion once again.

And of course the Andy Hinchcliffe ‘this is what he should have done’ method:-

Player is through and takes a first time low shot which is blocked by keeper: “well he should have had the composure to lift that above the keeper into the empty net: a bad miss”

Player is through and tries to lift it above the keeper who saves: “well he should have taken a low first time shot there past the keeper: a bad miss”

Marti - Glasgow Rangers.

Read on the BBC after their match yesterday the current Rangers manager may need to win the Europa League to keep his job despite winning 5 league games in a row.

Can’t stand Celtic and their fans but they are so far ahead of Rangers on the pitch and financially that it could take years for Rangers to get close to them and that is ALL any manager is judged on there. Poisoned chalice I’d think for any new manager unless they already have a decent Rangers connection and credit in the bank and would get more time. Could see Gerrard going back.

He can certainly take a great corner but he is very inconsistent: perhaps one in four are decent. Better than Chair at corners though hence why he takes most of them when they’re both on the field.

Peter Drury is another useless commentator. It bloody annoys me as well that all he does is SHOUT the name of whoever has an effort at goal. Modern lot have no nuance at all.

SALAH!!!!

Frey will be relieved you haven’t given up on him yet.

Couldn’t disagree more with your opinion on Frey: he’s the epitome of a player who ‘puts the team first’, running himself into the ground to press and chase when clearly speed is not his main asset.
Scores goals as well as sets them up.

By far our best forward above the other three who are hopefully learning from him as to how to play the lone striker role.

Guide dogs are trained as puppies and spend most of their lives assisting.
They do a magnificent job and I’m sure they are all re-homed to spend their final years just doing fun dog things without any further responsibilities. They deserve it, bless em.

Ah we were wondering who was going to replace Dykes in your heart to be showered with praise to the detriment of others who play in his position and it looks like you’ve picked Lloyd: lucky lad 😂

At the moment Frey is miles ahead of Lloyd in terms of what he offers and deservedly should start every game. Lloyd offers a decent alternative to come on late and hopefully will develop further over the next few seasons.

Preston v Burnley 0-0. Which idiot at Sky thought that would be a good game to be their lunchtime ‘Main Event!’? Viewers must’ve been in single figures.

Scotty Parker grimly grinding his way to promotion to the ‘promised land’ before being found out again next season as they get bummed 3 or 4 nil every game and relegated again: I’d hate to be a Burnley supporter.

He’s been unlucky but whilst we are still in playoff contention then Edwards should play as he’s better. In the unlikely event we have nothing to play for then I’d drop the loan players and also any player who is definitely not going to be here next season and play those who will be here in August.

Well to be fair to him the little fella had a very good game: let the game flow, not many cards, no big wrong decisions. Maybe the tide has turned in our favour with him?

Traitors is always worth a watch but for me the US version is loads better than the UK one.
Alan Cumming is great at hamming it up as the presenter and the contestants are more glamorous and better at acting the part due to their previous TV exposure. Loved Boston Rob in this year’s series.

Really need to beat Portsmouth next and not lose the March home games as a minimum.
After the start to the season it’s great to be in with even a slight chance of the playoffs.

I like Paal: think he’s more than decent enough at this level and hope we keep him.

However again we have a poster suggesting there is a “disgusting undercurrent” to the criticism he gets, just like recently when someone else suggested similar about Chris Willock’s criticism.

Really feel there is no need for these baseless accusations against posters to be put on here at all: totally unnecessary.

The criticism for the players mentioned has been levels below that thrown at the likes of Madsen all season and Celar before he got scored a couple of goals and got injured: how’s that fit into the theory?

Agree: Paal had a good game. Better set pieces and an assist with a great free kick.
