Can't see beyond a Liverpool v Newcastle final but if it was Spurs v Newcastle it would be great simply because they are both so utterly desperate for a trophy that one of them will still lose. |

That's kind of my point and I'm not the one who's worried. I think the point is that people should be a bit more understanding/trusting about the signings that are made and not dissect them to atomic level. Speculation is OK but it's just that. In reality we simply do not know. Don't bother quoting click-bait websites as a source, they're just speculative too. |

Our Head-to-Head results v Blackburn are not very good; P60 W18 D12 L30 Here's hoping for W19 as of tonight but I think it'll be a draw. |

They're both a risk. All signings are a risk. See 'Richard Ord'. |

As said, it's a balancing act and a difficult one at that. The club has been lambasted many times for giving out 5 year contracts where it backfired.... SWP for one, and there are plenty of others from that time, and Taylor Richards in the here and now (though 3 years is not as bad as 5 but we've still come unstiuck) It's a massive game of risk where so many things can go wrong; long contract> players phones it in/gets injured/loses form/doesn't give a scht and we're stuck with that player. How many times have we seen around transfer windows people say "xxxx player is rubbish, we should sell them" - well, if they are rubbish what club is going to buy them? And if they do, it'll probably be at a loss to us. Short contract> player becomes the new Messi and we lose him for nowt. Easy for us to sit here and say the club should do this and do that when there is no pressure on us whatsoever regarding the outcome. Try making those decisions when your neck is on the line, I wouldn't want to! |

How can we take £2m if Sheff Utd have, reportedly, offered £400k+ plus add ons? As we know, most add ons need quite a lot of things to happen to trigger the full amount, which may never happen. |

"I get more stressed watching at home than being in the ground" Same here!! |

"It is, I suppose, why scouts go to watch players live." - Yup. Player comps. on youtube are all very well but is really zero gauge as to a players ability. I could make myself look a genius on youtube; - takes 32 videos of attempting to hit top-bins - finally gets top bins, deletes 31 other videos repeat when it comes to nutmegs, scissor kicks, panaka's, favellas, tortillas and all the other tricks. splice together and ..... voila, sign me up Dave, sign me up. And if his form falls off a cliff or he has a long term injury and he's not the same once he gets back then no one will buy him and we have a sub-par player for the remainder of the contract. Thing is, lots of "iffs & buts" on both sides of the argument. It really is a delicate balancing act, one that for a very long time has been very much in favour of the player. |

24 pages because we really like him and really don't want him to leave. |

Unless he'll sign a new contract. I doubt the club would not sell him (even for less than wanted) if he won't sign. |

If does stay and anyone does that, they need to give their head a wobble. |

You don't have to read it all, merely add your comments on to it then engage from there. If everyone started a new thread for each comment it would be a nightmare which is why it's encouraged to keep everything on the one thread. |

Not knocking anyone who can't go (for whatever reason) and are able to watch, at least one can do that. Back in the day (add Harry Enfield accent) you had two choices, go or can't go. IMO being at the game gives you a totally different (and better) experience than watching on TV/streams etc. I wouldn't say you get 'nothing' from the TV viewing but I don't feel it's the same. Two examples... I recently went with the kids to the NYD Watford home game, we were right behind the goal (you can see my daughters pink goalie shirt) at the lower school end. You really get a brutal sense of the physical side of things and the sheer speed the game is played at. On tv it looks positively pedestrian. When we got back into the PL in 2011 and we played Man U at home, it was the first time I'd seen Rooney in the flesh. Now, he has/had his critics but my god his athleticism was immense. Again, never got that from watching PL or England games on TV. So, yes, I would take post match comments from someone who's been at the game more closely than someone who watched it on TV whether they were watching next to the ground or anywhere else in the world. Again, that's not detracting from those TV watchers having an opinion, just that for the reasons explained being at the game gives, IMO, a better experience of it. |
