I have no issue cashing in but don’t see why it can’t wait until the end of the season. It all feels just opportunistic for all parties. Where’s the planning ? What is our strategy apart from sell, sell, sell. I have zero faith that he will be replaced adequately during this window, we have been here too often in the last few years. We all know that only a fraction of the £3m will be spent on bringing someone else in if anyone at all. Utter shambles.

I maybe in a minority but letting the captain go to a team equally as poor is a pretty crap show at all levels. We will be a weaker squad without him. Anyone who believes that there is a better replacement lined up is deluded. Don’t get me started on Fulton or Allen filling that role …

Could selling Grimes and losing his wages allow a deal for Darling?
at 06:12 28 Jan 2025

Does anyone actually seriously believe the money for Grimes will be spent on ‘strengthening’ the squad ?

After 8 years of American ownership you actually believe that we will have someone lined up … ?

What does Grimes transfer request tell us?
at 06:07 28 Jan 2025

Grimes’s transfer request confirms that the lack of ambition has finally filtered through to the most placid of captains & players. There will be more want away players lining up moves via their agents.

Are we now in a downward spiral?

The club has been in a downward spiral since the day Michael Laudrup was sacked

Williams now has no choice but to get a new captain.
at 19:14 25 Jan 2025

Grimes should have been relieved of the captaincy a couple of years ago. It should have been given to Darling. Changing managers so often hasn’t helped this situation. He will never make a no. 10 as longs as I have a hole in my backside. We need a new coach to come in & to shake things down & appoint a new captain

A Man Who Knows?

Struggling to recall if I have ever witnessed such an uninspiring manager of men in my life. Totally lacking in any moral fibre as a leader. As for his tactics & football knowledge below average would be a massive overstatement. Clueless even with such a poor squad. Out of his depth, he needs to be put out of his misery for everyone’s benefit

Norwich City v Swansea City : Mach day thread

Coleman has everything to prove. He was much heralded for getting rid of Kaplan & Levein but has done nothing different to when they were in charge. His lack of knowledge & understanding of the game feels very much like it’s a case of the blind leading the blind. It’s time for leaders to show some leadership

Respect has to be earned. He may have gained a few brownie points for getting Levein & Kaplan out but his big decisions, the appointments of Duff & Williams have been disastrous. Until he shows something half positive to turn us around then it appears nothing has changed since the Yanks came in

We are due a decision against the Blades.

Wasn’t it Naughton who got shoved off the ball in the 95th minute by Brewster that led to them beating a couple of years ago ? Shocking play by Naughton even worse by the referee

Man City

I’m seeing Man City changing their style. Albeit against an inferior Ipswich side, Man City seem to be playing with a much faster tempo & more aggression than they have done previously. Maybe ditching the tiki taka of days gone by …

Of a long list of issues at the club, I would say that Grimes is a long way from the top of those issues that need sorting

Against my better judgment (haven’t done a bubble for a couple of years ) I’ll be there.

Some good memories of him taking Chambers (Arsenal)& Ivanovic (Chelsea)to the cleaners. My other undying memory of him is pulling up holding his hamstring on more occasions than he actually beat a player

Let’s hope he gets minutes on the pitch, there’s a player in there, he just needs an opportunity

All sounds good in theory for bringing back injured players & blooding a few youngsters … but we all know it ain’t gonna happen (because we say it every year & it never does)

Joke of a player. Had about 3 decent games for us yet remains some kind of cult figure. Yet another taker on a long list of in it for what they can get out of it. Good luck to him & them between the injuries & time on the treatment table

This stinks of desperation. All of the data, research, YouTube videos, scouting reports etc. etc. & the head coach has to go see or speak to some individuals. Seems like our main targets have said no or we are unwilling to pay. Same issues every January just gets more & more amateurish every season
