Southampton Football Club Limited is a separate legal entity ( https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/00053301/fili so in simple legal terms SR could sell the shares it owns in that entity to a new buyer.
Whether they would do is another matter. But looking at the accounts to 2023 it doesn't look like the Club is much of a cash cow for the rest of the group. And mid-table life in The Championship is not a money printing operation either.
I guess too what all the promoted clubs are finding out is that the amount of money needed to put together a squad that can actually compete in the PL is now humungous. |

I've always disliked Chelsea. When I meet people and we get talking about who we support, I always struggle when they say Chelsea. It's like for me supporting Chelsea is a bit odd and not like supporting a proper football team.
It's completely irrational and I don't know where it comes from but it's real enough. |

Well there would at least be some logic in deciding to play Martin-ball but then making sure that we have the players able to do that at PL level.
The 'structural problems' that Juric talks about are basically trying to do everything on the cheap.
Even if we get promoted again, a huge effort is then needed to allow us to compete.
Look at Norwich, EFL champions in 2019 and 2021 and relegated botton of the PL in both of the following seasons (*). Now a decent but unspectacular 10th in The Championship.
But I guess we'd all take being Champions next season given the ignominies of this one, even if we did come straight back down again.
(*) Even bottom they mananged to clear 20 points both times. |

What possible reason is there to stick with him any longer?
Never mind worst PL manager, in terms of results he must be one of the worst ever managers in English football.
Why would any Club assume that someone so bad is suddenly going to become a winner?
It makes absolutely no sense and is typical SR dithering and wishful thinking.

Now that Juric's psychodelic's have finally worn off and he can admit for the first time the madness in the way he has been playing, let's see if has any ability to play with the cards that he has been dealt.
I am expecting a revelation - an entirely new way of playing suited to the actual team that he picks. Solid. Hard to break down. A clean sheet maybe.
And if not. If it's more of the same. Then hopefully cheerio Ivan. |

I've got a huge amount of sympathy for the players.
Both Martin and Juric have been setting them up to play in ways that make it almost impossible for them to succeed.
I can't get out of my head quite how poorly Juric set things up defensively on Saturday.
A back line which included players playing out of position and almost no midfield defensive support in front of them. I have this image in my head of a strung out piece of string stretched from one touchtime to the other as the only defence between Brighton and the goalkeeper. It was just so easy for them to smash through it.
4 at the back playing as defenders with 2 defensive midfielders in front of them is not exactly rocket science in terms of frustrating an opposition.
Let's see what the clown conjures up tonight. |

There is really no point in picking on individual players.
The manager is setting up the team in such a bizarre fashion that nobody has really got a chance.
I believe that Juric is completely incompetent. He is certainly a worse manager than Martin and Selles and, for me, he is giving Jones a run for his money for the very worst of the last bunch.
This final choice is difficult because whenever Jones opened his month he came across as an idiot whereas Juric at least sounds the part. But in terms of results and what's going on on the pitch, it doesn't get much worse than Saturday. |

I know he’s trying to win games but….
…. for much of yesterdays game Brighton were playing with 10 men behind the ball, effectively two rows of defence.
For pretty much the whole game we had nothing that could be described as a defensive midfield. Instead one strung out defensive line and a pretty makeshift and flimsy one at that.
It’s really no surprise that we are shipping so many goals. And the confidence and consistency up front is shot, so it’s really no surprise we’re not scoring either.
Post-match Juric seemed to admit that his plans weren’t working and weren’t going to work. Why the f has it taken him so long to work this out.
Simon Rusk did better in 1 game.
Get this clown away from the team before he ruins all
of them.
Thanks to SR we do not have a Pl squad but they are not this bad. |

I like it in The Chapel (apart from the whining man-baby who sits directly behind me) but you'll have to get used to all the conversations about gout and varicose veins and, of course, the constant stream (excuse the pun) of gentlemen nipping to the gents. |

I personally don't think that US democracy is going to survive his Presidency. He has already stacked the Supreme Court with his judges and now he dismantling the institutions both internally and internationally.
It's authoritarian playbook stuff.
I guess he's got until the US mid-terms in Nov 2026 to do his worst. He could lose control of congress again then. |

Results dictate whether a manager needs to go and results dictated that Ralph, Jones, Selles and Martin all had to go.
Usually, of course, those in charge are not as hopeless as SR in picking a successor and when replacing 4 managers, at least one of them would be a good choice.
Results dictate that Juric needs to go. He has been appalling. And just because Sports Republic couldn't replace a lightbulb doesn't change that fact. |

Sports Republic were given a real let-off reversing their first relegation after only then finishing 4th.
They couldn't have blown that chance more spectacularly if they'd tried.
Extraordinarily incompetent on pretty much every footballing level, recruitment, managers, contract extensions, you name it. |

I am wondering whether those in charge of Sports Republic are every going to look at the string of disastrous managerial decisions that they have made over the last few years and conclude that they are doing something very wrong and that, clearly, these are not decisions that should be left to them.
It's unusual for a turkeys to vote for Christmas, but Keegan did it when he was England manager. Held he hands up and said 'nah, I don't think I can do this'.
Is this level of humility even possible for these people? Or are they busy blaming someone else every time?

Season ticket holders have been mugged off this season.
I paid to watch to watch the Club at least try to stay in the league. That’s certainly not been the case since the end of the transfer window and prob since 10 games in when Martin should have gone. |

First half against WH, it looked like Juric had had an instant positive impact.
That didn’t even last until the second half.
Since then he’s been generally abysmal with the odd bright spell to keep those of an optimistic disposition interested in him.
No sensible football club would keep him next season.

Where will we be next year?
It will turn out that Johannes Spor is a footballing genius. He quickly identifies a footballing plan that will both storm the Championship and then act as a sensible platform to push on from in the PL. More to the point, he manages to get all the Sports Republic amateurs to buy into his plan.
A manager to implement the plan is found. He is brought in as soon as we are mathematically relegated and give the chance to asses the current squad for the rest of the season.
A sale and recruitment plan is worked out. Spor turns out to have nose for recruitment too, new players are identified quickly, Solak provides the necessary funds and they are brought in quickly.
The new manager has the whole pre-season to work with them, and we are unstoppable next year.
By mid-Feb 2026 we are 12 points from automatic promotion and the bookies are no longer taking bets on us being Champions.
The team will have moved on fantastically.
And I will still be sitting here eating these mushrooms. |
