Refilling the trough on 20:40 - Jan 8 with 438 views | Kilkennyjack | Serious question - Is there anything welsh that you are supportive of ? You appear to dislike all things linked to Wales and cant wait to rabble rouse. Do you think that of all the peoples of Europe that - uniquely - the welsh cannot be trusted to run their own affairs …? Always remember that a new door for the House of Lords alone recently cost £7m - see we can all claim faux outrage. ‘Refiling the uk trough’ perhaps a next story for you then ? ? The suggested pay rise has come from an independent body. So not really sure what else they can do ? Maybe refuse it or give to charity ?

I’ll try to smile at your comments when my 5% plus council tax increase pops through my letter box. I’ll have fond memories of how much the signage for 20mph costs and oh how I’ll laugh when I think of the cost of an increase in the Senedd to be followed by the associated increase for staff and office space. Independent Wales my backside….those leaches should be on the dole and that building be turned into a refugee Center for all I care.

Do you really think that the leader of a country of less than 3.5 million in a devolved government that hasn't even got full powers deserves more money than the PM of the entire UK? The seond bit, completely irrelevant and not mentioned by the OP The third bit, whataboutery. Now the last bit, I remember independent bodies recommending pay rises before, when Westminster got 11% and the Senedd 18% the politicians said they couldn't turn it down yet when independent bodies suggested pay rises for the police, NHS and teachers the governments said they couldn't afford it and made reduced offers. It's one rule for the politico's and a different rule for the rest of us. It's a simple question, Kilky, do you think the Welsh FM deserves a bigger pay packet than the UKPM?

He posted that when he's fully aware that quite a few on here would like a vote on abolishing the Senedd. Personally, at a time when Welsh essential services are short of money, short of resources and failing by most measures, giving politicians who haven't even got full powers over Wales such a pay packet seems crazy to me. You wouldn't give a regional manager a bigger pay packet than the CEO.

I really feel we are fast returning to the days of peasantry by every charlatan that poses as a politician. I am sick to death these people forcing every sort of bull crap policy down my throat and telling me to pay for it. If any politician was told they couldn’t claim for second homes…transport…council tax…heating costs etc etc would these parasites still do the job? No they bloody well wouldn’t. So why should I do my job to fund them?

That is a positive thing agreed, but hardly even a side issue in this debate. Only you have mentioned it.

Serious questions : 1. are you as dim as you appear to be and want to reward failure. 2. Do you agree that a leader of a devalued failing /failed government where the systemic failure of job creation , Health care, education , social welfare which is the equivalent of some 3rd world countries , where the reading skills of our children are some of the worst in Europe, where people die waiting for medical care , where our transport system is falling apart , where job creation is purely centred in the south east of the country. is she really worthy of a pay scale higher than the Prime Minister ? if so then you should be certified. You like too many others are quick to defend the negative actions of the Welsh leadership because they cannot do wrong due to your and their immature view on the world.
