Heads of the Valley road upgrade is finally coming to an end after 23 years and £2 Billion spent.

Known locally as "The Road to Hell" it kind of sums up Devolution to Wales

You give it out, you take it back it`s all part of the game

3 section are currently 70mph but the last section finished, Clydach gorge has a 50mph limit. A big money earner for the Welsh government as all vehicles have to brake from 70mph to 50mph as they approach it. No reason a modern dual carriageways should have a lower speed limit than the single carriageway it replaced.

Coming down from 70 to 50 is not a big deal, Signs will be seen in advance. if any driver can't do this then they shouldn't be driving

Needless braking down the hill towards the Abergavenny turnoff then it continues along the flat section and straight is ridiculous and unnecessary.
I thought the whole idea of the new upgrade was to improve the movement of traffic which as you say travelled faster prior to the new carriageways.
I used to thumb lifts every Saturday dinner time to travel home to Swansea when based at Cwrt Y Gollen so I remember the road well .

Basically the reduced speed limits have rendered the entire project pointless.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Wait for the "50 to reduce pollution" signs to go up.
