46 years in, I have never cared less about the club.

Conversely, I’ve never been more concerned about the club.

Scooters, Tunes, Trainers and QPR.

So you'd let the same people who did the summer do January as well?

Didn't the same people do last January well? Judging by our improved results from February to May I thought they did. We were quite lucky (or clever possibly) with injuries in that period. We've done badly since the summer window but obviously it's been a terrible time with the injuries, while the summer signings are bedding in. Personally don't think the summer intake was all bad, but unfortunately probably the key one Cellar has still not scored, though I think he's made a slight improvement in the last couple of games, and we didn't get another LB having let Larkeshe go. I'm ok with them doing the next window as long as Marti is well involved in player selection as I understand he was in the summer.

And what did we get last January?

Frey for £10 a week to the summer and then great money this year
Andersen for £10 a week to the summer and then great money this year
Hayden on a basically free loan from Newcastle as we have an arrangement with them via Jamie Reuben
Hodge on a basically free loan from Wolves who MC could never shoehorn into the team and is now in L1.

It wasn’t a good window by any stretch of the imagination. Some good management and more than a helping of luck dug them out though.

Hayden the only real success of those.

Frey only now getting up to speed (but is he going to be injury prone?).

Andersen has fallen off a cliff.

Hodge now L1 as you say.

Our recruitment is more miss than hit, as we all know.

Couple of things from that - Nardi is an upgrade on Begovic and 'Big Sam' had to ask who our manager is!!

I'm not sure if it crops up anywhere else in the interview but our S & P position needs to be included in the discussion, to put our recruitment in context.

Unlike big Premiership teams, we are severely constrained by the regulations and can't splurge on players. Begovic surely knows that.

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

I'm concerned too, but you can only stress about all of this for so long. Football has changed so much, for the worse, and we are so far away from looking like a professional club and team that I can't find the passion and enthusiasm I used to feel. I wish I felt differently but it's becoming a chore to support QPR.

Suffering since 1978.

Our biggest problem is how do we unload the players that have come in this summer that clearly are a mile off it? There is some serious £ been spent on absolute garbage plus Marti must have a generous pay-off given he just extended his contract.
It's obvious that it's either the CEO or Marti, but who's going to bust first. It needs the owners to intervene, fire the CEO and just put Sinton in as a CEO cover until the summer.
Without Marti we are truly doomed.

Nardi is an upgrade but none of the other signings were, it was another interesting insight I thought

To be fair to Big Sam I'm not sure why he would know or be interested in who our manager is

The only way we're getting rid of those players is if the owners buy a club at a suitable level. Maybe Scottish League 1 or 2.

My take was Begovic was talking about it because he wanted another year with us, probably on decent money and didn't get it.

Although he does seem to do the rounds on podcasts etc - suppose it makes a change he wasn't talking about Chel...

If you are having a player on your podcast five minutes reading up over a pint of Chablis isn’t too much to ask

Perfect summary Clive with the normal quality lines that always bring a smile and a laugh on a drab Monday morning.

A very long and expensive day and your so right Leeds never got out of second gear which was very surprising and the Celar chance at the end was huge but he put it six feet wide.

We are now also losing our wooden spoon race with Portsmouth.

Thank god for the international break and I can go back to watching some non league football.

Haven't you been watching non league football all season ?😉

Allardyce invariably comes over to me as someone who is incredibly ignorant about the industry generally. He looks as bored here as he is boring.

As mentioned above, by replacing Begovic with Nardi, we did.

I still think some of our summer signings are good, it's just the balance that was wrong. The Dykes transfer was the moment I thought 'hang on?' I know he was heavily criticised while he was here but it was really dumb to sell both him and Armstrong and only get Celar in. Armstrong clearly wanted a move; Dykes didn't.

Then you see the same thing happening with Larkeche. Again, you might not rate him highly but he was our cover for that position and now we have none.

I don't know who on earth thought Santos was good enough though...
