So very sad to read of Quincy's death. He was one of the greatest ever music producers. Many artists owe much of their best work to him. His music helped to keep me sane in the disco days.
One of the best things he ever did was to recruit Rod Temperton as a songwriter and the magic ensued with wonderful albums from the likes of Michael Jackson, George Benson and The Brothers Johnson.
Music back then was fun, kids these days miss out on fun.
In 1969 Quincy wrote two film soundtracks, one being The Italian Job, and recorded the fabulous Walking in Space album, which includes this track which I love and feels very appropriate right now...
Also, Quincy Jones' comment on McCartney's bass playing being poor contrasts with everything else I've read.
Now it seems I've learnt something. Turns out it wasn't Jasper Carrott who originated the joke although he may later have stolen it. Apparently it was from an episode of Radio 4's 'Radio Active' series in 1981.
