Toyed with this idea last season. Shall we have a thread to discuss, comment on, cover the rest of the league? A place to discuss other teams’ results, performances, financial implosions, etc?

For example, last night, anyone catch either of the first two games? I didn’t. But somewhat surprised/worried Blackburn scored 4 given how they are meant to struggle. Was it Derby being utter sh*te?

Sounds like Preston are continuing in the same vein of being incredibly dull.

Clive, what do you think? Worth making a sticky? Might reduce the number of threads to manage.

ANNOUNCE CHAOS

Think it’s a decent risk to take for this season and they’ve got a kind run. Away to Sheff U and Sunderland at the end but a fair chance those teams have nothing to play for by then and are just waiting for the playoffs. Chances are though they’re in this division next season and can’t see it working long term but if you say they have a 40% chance of playoffs and then a 20% chance of winning those playoffs it’s a punt worth taking for the short term impact it might have.

Louie Barry injured and back at Villa, blow for Hull before he's even got started.

Poll: Moses Odubajo - Stick or Twist?

I think they'll nick 3/4 wins out of that which might be enough, very close this year though as none of the bottom 3 are cut adrift yet

Yeah I think it’s going to be a much more normal points total to be safe this year. Reckon about where we are will be enough. Get the sentiment for stoke being lucky to stay up, but do you really see the current bottom 3 getting anymore than 40ish points?

Plymouth maybe, but Luton and Derby are getting worse not better - they need a Rohl/Marti style surge and the evidence does not suggest that’s gonna happen based on what we’ve seen so far.

For context, we had 35 points after 34 games last year, and SW had 32. The improvement was there for all to see.

Luton/Derby/Plymouth, 28/29/30.

Bleak.

I genuinely can't believe how bad Luton are.

Well, they're the only team we've done the double over. That's how bad they are.

Poll: QPR to finish 7th or Brentford to drop out of the top 6?

Treble if we are being picky.

It's quite incredible. Doughty was an outside shout for the England squad last season! Just let him whip balls in for their myriad of strikers great and tall

Since the start of the 2023/2024 season they’ve played 72 games and accumulated 54 points at 0.75ppg. If they weren’t such a horrible club I’d almost feel sorry for them.

His glory period at Barnsley coincided with the Covid rules where you could make loads of subs, and he replaced tons of people through the match after they all ran themselves into the ground for 50 min spells

I thought it was pretty impressive to watch tbh, proper 80s Wimbledon, but I can’t see it going down well at Blackburn

Yeh but those are the sub rules that are still in place.
