tsbains64 added 07:15 - Feb 3 Cesar MOTM and that sums up the performance New players contributed well but need to win especially as others around us a picking up points We were toothless upfront and dont know where the goals are going to come from Mackie will run into the wall for you-but thats about it!! Impressed with Townsend-great attaching and tracking back Just need a couple of 1-nilers!! Hoopsa_Carts added 09:49 - Feb 3 Mixed feelings on this one. Credit to HR for the huge improvement in team performances since the lamentable Hughes was given the bullet, but I thought we were far too negative with the formation in the first half and were slow in implementing the changes which made us more of a goal threat. Much better second half when we played with the two up front but I can't help but feel that we only gave ourselves half a game to get a (much needed) win. ozranger added 10:53 - Feb 3 Agree fully with most of what has been said above. My two pence worth is the change after Zamora came on was because of his ability to get his head, or body, to ball sent downfield. I am sure that Clive will explain this better, but in the first half every goalkick or boot up forward was met by a Norwich head and whats more was that they got second ball as well and thus one of the reasons they began to pressure us after 15 minutes. Thus, with Zamora up there to put his head, and body, about, we were now participating in the play. Hence, the need for him to heal quickly from his hip surgery. I am not all that convinced about Fabio not playing LB, which is where he did so well before. Fabio is being used as a general fill-in person, but I am concerned it may affect him. I hope Onouha is back quickly. To MoM, I would actually want to give it to Townsend. In his first game, with only one practice under his belt and without playing with his new team-mates he seemed to play as if he had been here for quite some time. He will not be a saviour, but I think he will fit in well.. oh and he has some silky skills which were on show, and a powerful shot. derbyhoop added 16:02 - Feb 3 Lotd of average performances, not enough good ones. First half was a dreadful game of what passes for Premiership football. Second half we stepped up without ever threatening to score. I thought we were slightly the better side but they had the better chances. Their resilience made the game too stop start for us. Pluses. Another good performance by Cesar. Fabio and a half fit Samba did well. Taarabt, like the curate's egg. Good in parts, but some poor errors of judgement. Jenas looked tidy. Zamora as well, although the other attackers were rarely on the same wavelength. Best player was Townsend. highlandbill added 18:17 - Feb 3 Came away disappointed (Again!),I had hoped that at last we would have a win by 2 or3 clear goals.Instead,it was as before. The spirit obvious on Tuesday was missing, perhaps the crowd lifted matters under the lights. Much impressed by Townsend,he can the kind of debut you expect from a new keen young player.Jenas,s touch on the ball was very crisp and I am surprised to read comments about him on this site as he strikes me as classy. Tarbs had an off game but despite the fact we had no slackers we were toothless, time and agin ther was no-one forward to pass the ball to. We also had our usual bad luck, there was the penalty and then it seemed as if Norwich players had a ball magnet attached to them as scores of loose balss fell to their feet. I AM UP and down like a yoyo, after Tuesday I thought we were on our way at last, after Saturday I feel as glum as I have all season. 13 games to go and quite a few winnable on paper, but that also applies to past games which wre not won.I am once again looking down at the Championship. themodfather added 06:24 - Feb 4 how did they end up with 10 on the pitch? every attack saw them foul qpr..endlessly breaking up play....and we won't mention the diving about either!! simmo400 added 06:44 - Feb 4 simmo400 added 06:44 - Feb 4 pedrodale added 17:32 - Feb 4 QPRNZ added 03:05 - Feb 10 Far better performance 2nd half, seems like 1st time I have seen QPR playing some football for a long time. Created plenty of chances and unlucky to 'lose' 2nd half 2-1. Seems to me that we have to play 4-4-2. Got torn apart anyway playing defensive 4-5-1. Have to play either Remy/Taraabt or Zamora/Taraabt up front. Granero has to play. Our only chance is to somehow get our 'class' players performing. Having said that I am resigned to relegation.
