Saints Fans Claim Van Dijk Will Stay After His Omission From Liverpool Squad
Tuesday, 1st Aug 2017 21:38

Saints supporters have been all over social media this evening claiming Virgil Van Dijk will stay at St Mary's after he was sensationally left out of the Liverpool team to take on Bayern Munich this evening.

When Liverpool arrived in Munich today for their friendly game against German giants Bayern Munich local journalists were shocked to see that Virgil Van Dijk was not with the squad.

When the fixture was announced several months ago many tickets were sold on the back of the word of ex Liverpool legends Micky Quinn and John Aldridge who assured the World that "a deal was close" !

Now it turns out that the word "close" on Merseyside and Germany has completely different meanings.

Back in 1940 the German definition of the word in the Reichsdiktionary was.

Klose - A period of 1 day to 4 years

This was illustrated by the fact that Adolph Hitler claimed to be close to winning World War 2 as he stared at England from Calais through a pair of binoculars, however 4 years later he found that he wasn't very close after all.

Ironically Hitler's plan failed because he didn't actually make a bid for England by invading it ! which all sounds a bit familiar.

After the War Germany changed the meaning of the word to coincide with that of the rest of the World to mean "a fairly short period of time perhaps a few days or maybea week or a future German International footballer"

However due to an administrative error on Merseyside the Liverpool City dictionary was never altered, meaning that Jurgen Klopp when learning English was unaware of this grammatical error.

However the German journalists were shocked that Van Dijk hadn't travelled with the team and may be refusing to do so due to a problem with his contract, ie he has one he has to honour !

Klopp had spoken in Berlin at the weekend saying that although Van Dijk had not been taken to Berlin he was going to have a word with him on Facetime on Sunday and see if he could persuade him to put in a transfer request and throw away £7 million in the process and he was hopeful that he would join the squad down in Bavaria, the fact that this has not happened has prompted the story of his absence going viral

This has led Saints fans to claim on social media that Van Dijk is now odds on to stay at St Mary's after he was pictured looking at a Craig David CD with a copy of Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band (extended edition) lying at his feet on the floor, whilst smiling at the Civic Centre clock.

This is clearly a cryptic clue that he sees Liverpool as a team firmly rooted in the past whereas Southampton are modern vibrant and his future.

There was also the story of his visit to Starbucks in Southampton City Centre, after placing his order he was asked if he wanted his Skinny Latte to drink in or to go, he clearly indicated that he would prefer to stay and drink in, why would he do that if he wanted to get away from Southampton.

Friends of his on twitter have also been claiming that Ringo Starr never played on Love Me Do, a sure sign he is now distancing himself from anything to do with Liverpool.

But more telling was that Southampton Webzine The Ugly Inside published a picture of a boat leaving Liverpool with someone looking sulky gazing across the water, again a clear sign that Van Dijk will not be going to Liverpool.

Whether Liverpool can integrate Van Dijk into the Liverpool squad is yet to be seen, certainly the last time he tried to ended up badly, meaning that Klopp is scared to ask a second time.

The latest news in the Echo this morning suggests that the VVD saga is not vety funny at all. The club need to insist he puts in a forrmal request as he is obviously never playing for us again...

Said it before, let him rot! Clear he is never going to play for us again, but he hasn't got the balls to actually put a formal request in because no doubt he would lose a lot of money. At present I'm pleased with how we're dealing with this, stand firm and send a message to ever other player in the squad, we're no longer the push overs of the past!!

Yes agreed pezzasaint. Vvd = a total (insert your thoughts here) n should be dealt with sternly. We are a club not a one man show and other clubs especially a certain club should show respect. Money can't buy class and it seems even the old money team with cup filled history is a classless act. Ironically no wonder vvd insists he wants a move to there if the reports are true. Seems like a match made in heaven the more I think about it. both are unprofessional (insert your thoughts here)!!!
