| News Comment | QPR slump to dead last after Pompey implosion – Report at 18:56:34
I think he left Fox on to save him the abuse he would’ve got as he was subbed off. We keep on saying that things can only get better, but then they serve this display.Hopefully it will be better tomorrow night. |
| News Comment | Risen indeed – Report at 08:37:29
I’m glad that we made the effort to get there, despite all the travel problems.I also thought the ref was excellent, but I saw on the Swansea blog that they thought he was one of the worst that they’ve had all season. Very good report again Clive. |
| News Comment | Paal's late salvage papers deep fault lines - Report at 08:44:20
I thought you were too generous giving this ref a 4.He obviously didn’t know the laws of the game that now state that if the ball hits the ref it results in a stoppage in play, not continuing because Huddersfield were attacking. The golden chance for Armstrong turned out to be a defender putting it out for a corner before Armstrong could reach it,but the muscle man chose to give a goalkick instead of a corner. It was a poor game though and thanks for the report. |
| News Comment | You’re going to need a bigger boat – Report at 23:34:26
Spot on Clive. The whole lot of them were a shambles from the start to the 9th minute of added time.God knows what will happen when we play a good team. |
| News Comment | I hitched a ride with a vending machine repairman — Report at 21:41:25
And you were right about that crap Lino.I ran the line today for half an U16 game and an adult womens game and I kept up with play more than this clown did yesterday. And I’m 62,overweight and have 2 dodgy knees.I saw him shrug his shoulders and stick his arms out by his side as if he was saying “How do you expect me to know whether it was offside or not?†|
| News Comment | I hitched a ride with a vending machine repairman — Report at 21:31:02
That report just about sums up what a crap 90 minutes of football we contributed to.We had a 10 minute spell either side of ht when we actually bothered to try and play a bit of football, and their 2nd goal came against the run of play, but they just gave up after that and the 3rd goal from my view in the back row of the away end was criminal. I was one of the few who stayed to the end and made a token effort of applauding the players who bothered to come over to us.But then my train wasn’t until 6.50pm so I had nowhere else to go. Just another bad day watching qpr and it certainly wasn’t worth the 15 hour round trip.Shame the football gets in the way of a day out really. |
| News Comment | Familiar refereeing complaints struggle to mask QPR shortcomings — Report at 20:17:49
I had to be content to watch this game from home, and I agree with almost all of your report.3 weeks is a long time in football without a game, and we don’t know how much training they were able to do in that time,so the team looked rusty and very listless after about 15-20 minutes. I agree that Bournemouth should’ve scored more than the one they did but, like the stoke game at only 1-0,we could’ve snatched an unlikely draw out of both games. If we’d picked up 2 points from those two losses, things would’ve looked a lot rosier, but we didn’t,and we lost to the better team. We’ll be tired by the Bristol and Birmingham games no doubt. |
| News Comment | Oh, Siriki Dembele - Report at 04:23:43
I agree with you about some of our support Clive.A lot seemed to be doing exactly the things we condemn Millwall fans for doing.I saw the video blog from one bloke and there were a group of youngsters getting on a train at just after 11 with 4 cans of beer each for a 45 minute journey, and assuming they got there at around midday, they had another 3 hours to kill in pubs in the city centre. I like a beer as much as the next man,but some fans on Saturday drank so much they couldn’t stand up.What makes some fans think it’s ok to start throwing plastic bottles around? I might start picking the midweek away games to far flung northern outposts,as most of the idiots from Saturday won’t be there. A depressing day all round I thought. |
| News Comment | The rat is back — Report at 22:50:29
After the Stoke and Rotherham games I really didn’t want to go to this one too,and I thought I’d waste the £18 for the ticket. I woke up stupidly early on Saturday and decided to drag myself up there after all.At ht my fears were justified, but the 2nd half was a vindication of my decision to bother going to the game. A real game of two halves covered well by Clive’s report. Well done Rangers for turning it around so well. |
| News Comment | Freeman heroics snap QPR's latest losing run - Report at 08:51:27
Great report of a great night. I think the Leeds yob might have been trying to be funny with his comment about getting stabbed in the morning.A bit like Hull yobs singing about living in a town full of bombers. Enjoy Freeman while we’ve got him. |
| News Comment | QPR profit from Clark’s comedy error — Report at 16:43:36
If that was the bloke in the gallowgate end we were drinking with him in the pub by Eldon Square before the game.My brother knows him and said he has lost a lot of weight. Another great night in one of the best cities to have a trip to. We got to bed just after 2am and had to be up at 9 to get the train home. |
| News Comment | An open letter to our Sky overlords — Column at 16:21:12
Well said, but totally pointless because nobody who can do anything about it will even read it. The people at Sky have beaten me down, and sadly after 40 years of having a season ticket, this will be my last one for a few years. I start work at 6pm mon-fri and unless I use one of my 20 days holiday for a midweek match I'm unable to attend.I finish at 6am on Saturdays and therefore 12.45 ko's are also a no no for me. I'm fed up with splashing out hundreds of £'s for tickets I can't use or even sell back to the club.So my 2 tickets will be unrenewed, but Sky will keep advertising their top class football coverage as if nothing has happened. Enough is enough, and the football league should limit the amount of homes that each club can lose to live TVs,but I won't be holding my breath. |
| News Comment | Protecting the integrity of the Premier League - preview at 08:54:08
It will be a strange day.Part of me wants to spend 90 minutes shouting abuse at some of the wasters at our club.Another part wants to make sure that the telly people know that its mainly Redknapps fault.I also want us to show some fight and put the Geordies to the sword, but the major part of me can't really be bothered anymore. After watching the surrender last Sunday lunchtime I just want this season to end now. I guess I might decide when I see the team that the false messiah has picked. If that includes the dwarf,I might just turn blue and explode. Watch out for flying body parts from ML. |
| News Comment | QPR hit for six as relegation is confirmed - report at 23:28:32
I was resigned to our fate after the 1st goal went in,but I didn't expect such a poor showing from our team that were supposed to be fighting for their lives. And then to be insulted by swp coming on to a heroes welcome was far too much to take. An absolutely disgraceful display from a team that doesn't appear to any better than the mercenaries of 2 years ago. At least some of us in the back rows tried to have some fun supporting our team, but I can understand who didn't feel the same enthusiasm. |
| News Comment | Myths, scapegoats and excuses - Redknapp at 16:21:32
A very good piece Clive. If only it had a wider readership so that more people would know the truth about our Harry. If his knees were that bad why not go 2 weeks ago and give a new manager the chance to shuffle the squad a bit before the transfer window closed? |
| News Comment | Ticket, train and coach details for Newcastle — travel at 03:21:36
There is a good pub called Sam Jacks and they have entertainment on match days .That includes strippers, pole dancers and a comedian who likes to have a joke with away fans too. If you come out of the station and cross the road, turn right and follow the next left towards the monument. The road on your right by the Pizza Hut is the Bigg market, but if you turn left instead heading towards the ground, the pub is on the left hand side of the road. Unfortunately I've arranged to meet some Geordie mates in there and then I remembered that I've got my 12 year old Daughter with me this time. |

Stafford is another option to change trains at.If we wanted a ticket back to Northampton its £40.If we get exactly the same trains, but buy tickets for the two journeys seperately it is £20,so shop around for the cheapest but slower trains. |
