| News Comment | QPR hold their nerve to settle cup thriller - Report at 11:19:04
Marvellous report as usual. What a game! Only a fiver for us seniors as well! I'm amazed that seriously good 42 of theirs is only 18. Yet we consider the near 22-year-old Chair to be a promising youngster. |
| News Comment | Inspired QPR damage Leeds' title charge - History at 19:14:44
1968/69 was the season Leeds first won the League and the season we went straight back down with 18 points. We lost 1-0 at home to them in an evening fixture (possibly a Friday?), which on the face of it was a routine win for the champions to-be but we absolutely murdered them! One newspaper report said Leeds 'were blessed with the sort of luck that is reserved only for champions'. It still rankles. |
| News Comment | QPR celebrate Loftus Road anniversary in fine style - Report at 21:24:28
I couldn't understand the thinking behind bringing on Posh Matt for Washington. Washington had a fine game - possibly his best - harrying defenders and bringing the ball down and others into the game. Smith, because of his lack of speed, was never able to do that and so we ceded possession to Ipswich's central defence. In any case, why use all your subs at 2-0 with 10 minutes to go? Big gamble. Don't understand it. |
| News Comment | Brentford pile on the misery as QPR lose six straight — Report at 09:19:44
I wasn't surprised to see Goss pulled. If your game is basically to ping 40 yard passes out to the wing then you need to be able to do it accurately, and he didn't. However the were several occasions when he moved into position to receive the ball short and other players - Bidwell in particular - didn't want to give it to him, suggesting perhaps they don't have confidence in him. |
| News Comment | QPR march on with easy Rotherham thrashing — Report at 17:32:46
One of Ollie's more eccentric team selections, with Sylla and Smith together up front and no width on the left. A strangely lethargic 5-1 win. A special mention for the boneheaded dinosaur in X block who told Sylla to 'get back on the side of a marmalade jar'. Jesus effing wept. |
| News Comment | Henry signs off with surprise strike — Report at 22:21:22
Re your comments on the annual pitch invasion Clive - I couldn't agree more. Last week the tannoy announcer at Brentford asked their fans to stay off the pitch, and to a person they did. |
| News Comment | Nutmegs, I prefer — column at 13:51:04
Fantastic, heartfelt piece of journalism. Adel was the most skillful player to wear the hoops since Stan. A brilliant, life-affirming but flawed and infuriating genius. I hope he has more than one stunning season to look back on in his old age. |
