Sorry to be negative but there’s not much romance in football and the fact he’s signed for 4 years just means Saints can expect healthy compensation if he leaves before the end of the contract. I’ve no doubts that if we finish top 8 he will be off in the summer. |

I think the home results since lockdown last season totally confirm the negative impact of the St Mary’s crowd on the team. Sad indictment actually and fans must take a hard look at themselves |

Correct. My uncle was always saying that it was no problem if Chivers was poached by Spurs as we had this young lad Channon in the reserves who would be even better ..... We sold him for £125,000 which was an English record at the time. Check out his goal scoring for example .... In the 1965—66 season, he played an integral role as the club finally gained promotion to the top flight (as runners-up), scoring 30 goals from 39 games, generally from crosses provided by Terry Paine and John Sydenham. All his goals were scored from the first 29 games, and he failed to find the net after the end of February. Phenomenal |
