Pull into a space if you see one large enough, do it slowly and maybe try to find the kerb with your front tyre before pulling out so you’re parallel If not then reverse in after checking all your mirrors.
I've just today completed a two day H&S refresher course that I have to do every five years. When I last did it a load of big events were mentioned such as Zeebrugge, Hatfield etc. Not one of those cases for the "big boys" resulted in a single conviction for corporate manslaughter.
Fast forward five years and.... guess what? Not one since nor one on the horizon. The Corporate Manslaughter Act came in 2007... a few small players have had their collar felt but nobody of any substance. Instead it's all about fines now linked to turnover. Is that really going to stop the culture of cutting corners to pump the margin, have people think twice about not maintaining things or ensure safety is number one?
I hate to mention Grenfell but there's little to no chance of anyone doing time for that. It'll be the same when the Westway collapses but 8 years after the event they'll say "lessons have been learnt"
No...... it would've been easier to actually maintain it and strengthen it when needed as a gradual process.
Instead, over countless decades, numerous different parties being responsible and upkeep budgets being flipped and flopped to different sectors we are left with this disaster as ZERO was done for years.
Watch this space for the same thing "sort of" happening with the A4 flyover and the M4 elevated section closely followed by the Westway. The A4 flyover already has serious issues caused by continued water ingress into the subterrain heating that was never used. The M4 flyover is a nightmare waiting to happen with "concrete spalling" getting worse every season. The Westway had all it's lamps removed years back due to corrosion causing ONE to fly across the carriageway in high winds (coz that's a better solution than maintianing and repairing what's there of course!)
The infrastructure that made this country is being slowly corroded away and replaced with bloody cycle lanes.
They aren’t going to change. Ever. You will not find what you are looking for in them. Never. Ever. Yet you insist on watching them and picking them to pieces. Always.
Had to pick up on your Varanne comment Re: won’t cut it in the Championship I didn’t watch this game but I’ve watched him in plenty of others. He will absolutely do well at this level and his progress across the season convinces me he may well excel. No idea what more you could demand from him this season other than maybe a couple more goals. Clearly he’s not the rebirth of Patrick Viera but he’s certainly been dominant in a good few fixtures when needed.
15 points clear (effectively with GD) VERY tough month ahead Twelve left to play Three wins needed….. once secured THEN is the time to “experiment”
I didn’t see any of this game as I was too busy enjoying myself but it reads as extremely frustrating. It’s served to extinguish the faint hopes some had of a play off push. Hopefully Marti has been resting Morgan for the daunting run of March fixtures where energy and mobility will be key.
National press. Comes across really well. Very much shop window stuff which won’t be good for us unless the release clauses are in the tens of millions!!!
Really hope Marti has us down for at least another season in his career development plan.
The man will make it to the very top and deservedly so
So….. the fella I know who is a Lootown ST holder said to me a week ago they’d lose on Saturday and absolutely have to beat Plymuff and Watford but he felt they’d beat Plymuff and Watford would delight in doing them. Oh dear…. Hopefully these next few weeks see further nails in their coffin 🤞
Just wondering if you fellas who feel Celar being (almost) a flop is due to the service he was getting also felt the same about Conor Washington?
Celar never ever looked happy here. Maybe there is a player / striker in there and maybe he’d settle and be a success in another part of Europe in a less competitive league. Maybe, just maybe, he’ll fully recover and become a scoring legend here as we Marti our way to a promotion.
As we hurtle rapidly down the back nine of the season I think we can say that, overall, the transfer dealings the club made were “okay”. Probably more successes than flops but, the three really poor signings ended up being probably the most expensive ones. Madsen and Celar look pound for pound terrible investments and whatever Ashby is costing a week is money we may has well of set fire to.
I think we’ll recoup something on Celar, hopefully he’s agent isn’t called Josef Fritzle, as he is after all an international etc
What’s the craic with Managers? Is it the same as players?
Club X rings up Nourry and offers £XMillion then if the board accept I assume he goes a lah a transfer fee? That would be my concern as it’s business first with man child.
I do also tend to agree with Padulas Shampoo in that Marti has moved around A LOT. Hopefully he’s found home here and does appreciate the love and the project. I do think he was genuinely moved and surprised at the crowd reaction at the Sjoke game late last year.
The speed of this site was getting me down earlier. Had to cancel my basket that had a flat packed kitchen, a mix of soooks and spells plus some Arabic Meth in it. Gutted. I mean….. what else do people come here for (apart from the Frankie thread of course)???
