Agreed, of course he should have scored but it was only a matter of inches out. More importantly, perhaps, got much more involved, had another good shot and there was much more to like. I think Frey coming back could take a bit of pressure off him too, suddenly hoping he could come good. |

I think the theory was that because he had been missing so many chances it proves that he was overcomplicating it. Which proves that neither of them had done any research or bothered to watch the chances he has missed previously. With the exception of the penalty, he hasn't exactly been overcomplicating things. But, regardless, to criticise a superb finish is just hilarious. [Post edited 30 Nov 12:21]

Did I just hear that right? Did Deeney and Ainsworth actually just criticise Celar's finish for the second goal? "Just slot it". What? They get paid money for this analysis. And management. |

Fantastic report, thanks Clive. The rarity of a win makes it even more eagerly anticipated. For those not there, what are the new Celar and Nardi songs? Always think we need a hymn sheet....I've been to loads of games and still have no idea of the words to the Paal song. |

I think that's what they teach them at the Veteran Managers Out of Work School. When you are rehired and are asked "Were you keen to get back?" Reply "I think Sandra / Joan / Debs was fed up with me being under her feet!" Then chuckle to yourself like Les Dawson. |

I find it irritating when told the fans should get behind the players. We do, constantly, for very little reward over many years. We are there, home and away, sometimes barely acknowledged. Literally the only note of discontent recently has been when Celar was subbed on Saturday. And that was late November, for a £2m+ signing who was not only goalless but showing absolutely nothing. I don't think the fans are to blame, ever. |

Yes, agreed. At least they are giving it a go - they only got their original jobs because of their names, of course, but taking jobs in the bottom half of the Championship does prove they want to make it work. As much as I didn't like Lampard as a player, I find it hard to generate that much hatred as a manager - and I don't think his managerial abilities or record are quite as bad as people make out. |

Tell me something - why can't you just debate like a grown up? Why do you have to be rude all the time? You've been on here long enough to know that DaveB is not patronising, smug or in any way deserving of your vitriol? Happy to debate all the time, but insults are so juvenile, however many long and clever words you try and put in them. |

If all you can do as a QPR fan is try and find fault in Steve Cook, then good luck to you. The very least of our problems. To find fault with him "berating Kakay" - the mind boggles. How's Kakay's career going these days? I've watched him all season, been by far our best and most important player in my opinion and once again if we are to stay up he has to be fit for all the games. |

Too true. When he sacks Marti, I will never forgive Nourry or the owners for backing this privileged fool ahead of a very decent man and manager. He should be backed via a press release, today, that admits he has been given a tough task in terms of injuries and "unfortunate" recruitment, but his job is safe even in League One. That would send a message to the players too. He won't of course, he is clearly going to be sacked and Nourry will be hoping for a crushing defeat on Weds or Saturday to give him the free pass he thinks it will bring. He will be wrong, as he will discover at the home games following. I loved Marti's words and actions yesterday in regards to the crowd. I can't remember such a connection with a manager between fans and players for a long time, even far more successful ones like Warnock the wolves were out as soon as we faltered. Not this man. Speaks volumes. But when he goes, I thank him for that turnaround last season, some of those games (Leicester A, Leeds H stick in the mind) brought as much fun as I have seen at Rangers for many a year. It was great to enjoy a manager rather than moan about him. I will also wish him every success in the future, as I know he will do well at a more stable club. Nourry out, now. Nourry you are a total prick. Listen to the fans today. Good luck to you when you sack him and we are losing next home game. |

It really wasn't very poor in my opinion. We did OK and showed plenty of intent. Most of the fans seemed to agree at the end. Running out of games? It's only November. You would think we were 10 points adrift with three games to go the way some on this board go on. We could just win 3 in 5 over the next month and we would be out the bottom three. Unlikely, but not impossible Yes we are in real trouble, but there is plenty of hope, provided we keep the manager I say. Get rid and we are doomed. [Post edited 23 Nov 18:38]

We weren't shite today. A makeshift side clearly still playing for the manager and it certainly wasn't dull. Great save from Nardi, Saito did well again, Varane blew very hot and cold and Morrison did fine. Wasn't Jimmy's finest hour. Celar there are no words. Only pity really. Terrible decision from whoever to let him take it. Feel like we should have won as so many chances and we gave them a goal but then again Ward saved us on their winning goal. Alfie so nearly brought the house down at the end. If we show this spirit we have a chance, for all our inadequacies. |

Well the fans made it pretty clear they were still behind Marti - and he seemed pretty passionate when returning at the end. Nourry take note. |

My job (thrilling stuff, I know) is to write exam questions for 11 year olds. Remember those triangle questions with labelled points? Naturally, a few of my triangles have Q.P and R as the labels. Plenty of other very subtle QPR references are thrown in, and some more blatant such as a pie chart where a group of pupils are asked to name their favourite football team. Very childish, but passes the time :-) [Post edited 23 Nov 8:49]

Really enjoyable and informed listen, thanks. I am glad the majority thought Marti should stay, although with plenty of caveats. I guess I am guilty of wiling him to be the Messiah and although I think he is pretty blameless, perhaps the Messiah would actually have done a better job this season. Sobering stuff, crowd reaction today is going to be fascinating. |

Dembele sums up recent times for me. It's gone unbelievably quickly from what a great signing, please secure him permanently, to what on earth happened to him and ooh that's a long-term injury. So quick, not even a second to enjoy the good times. |
| Forum Reply | Ownership of QPR at 18:54 20 Nov 2024
Ah yes getting back to the football - one quality midfielder alongside Super Ray in his pomp and I am convinced we would have won something. Holloway was dreadful, whatever the misty-eyed romantics say, and Barker was OK but nowhere near top class. Imagine another good midfielder in there........argh. |

Hope it means Marti won't be sacked if / when we lose. Would seem ridiculous to list out injury disasters before doing that? Straw clutching, I know. |
