moment of the match was Smyth's covering tackle around the 80th minute as Cardiff broke fast from one of our pointless corners (or something) and the Cardiff player - don't ask me to memorise their names - was 60/40 to get his toe to the ball and run on into a vacant QPR end and Smyth slid in at speed looking like he never had any intention other than clearing the Cardiff player into the stand.. After setting up defensively at home against Palace, we go for an adventurous 4-3-3 away at Spurs?
Too many gaps, too weak in the middle, toothless up front and pretty clueless throughout! Another record no one wants and looking odds on for another at this rate.
A little bit of hope after Wednesday, completely obliterated today. No one really expected a victory but we had a right to hope for a performance! |

For once I can claim that we were the better team
Downes,Onuachu,Kamaldeen and Manning all had their best game of this season and it was good to see
I would rather have played ABK than Stevens but other than that he selected the starting11 well Stevens did make a couple of last ditch tackles,which is the one thing he is good at,but he was at least 50% at fault with their goal THB messed up his clearance but when the cross came in JS was a yard behind his man and gave him a free header
Overall we were the better team and I came away gutted that we hadn't won |

Definitely looked better defensively & going forward but lost something when the defensive midfield went off. Tall Paul also gave us an out ball that disappeared when he went off.
Bottom line is if we had set up as well defensively in the previous games there's no doubt we would have more points! |

Match fitted into one of our recent patterns - play quite decently at times against an underperforming opponent, yet somehow throw one or more points away at the death. Fernandes and KWP played with energy, Onuachu made a nuisance of himself and got his goal. We are however not good enough against anybody to keep a clean sheet! Decent performance by Saints with most players getting 7 or 8's out of 10. That's what can happen with a sensible formation with players playing in their familiar positions. Fairly predictably we conceded but to a Premier class goal. Terrific effort by everyone. Really deserved a win and disappointing that we didn't and beat Derby's record. |

Horrible game, two poor teams. Saints gave ball away too often, no periods of real control other than the odd few minutes.
Midfield gave up - not fit not interested, Dibling poor, looks bored - like Smallbone wanders around and doesn’t commit. Wear shin pads for goodness sake!. Sugawara too many mistakes. ABK and THB could be basis of defence but need to look like they know each other occasionally - look like strangers meeting up once a week for a kick about.
Fernandes best player - substitution and then throwing him under the bus with so much more ineptitude on the pitch is my reason for now saying the boss has to go.
Stephen’s sub was his way of re introducing him to the game when no-one really cared at that stage. He is now back and watch out next game for a start.
So many poor decisions by players and manager - my worry is now throwing the Fernandes lad under the bus just knocks his confidence. Horrible to see. |

they have no idea how to set up a matchday team and it was obvious today. a fair bit of attacking play early on but nobody on the end of it! two right backs, no striker?
FFS can we not set up 4-4-2 with everyone in a position that is natural to them?

Sports Republic have made this club a laughing stock, their hedging of bets on spending millions on chance buys cannot be successful, particularly in the top flight. It may work in the weak leagues of Europe which is sports republic natural market but they are out of their depth in England. They need to sell up.
As for juric - he must be being paid stupid money to manage saints as I can't think of any other reason why pride hasn'tafe him resign.
The root of this pathetic relegation is on the owners but the last two years have been more depressing than when we went down back in the 2000s - back then we were in serious financial dire straits so couldn't afford decent players however this time the money has been there but had been squandered.

For most of the game we looked good but we just seem to switch off at key moments. 2 soft goals and a clear chance that Sulemana just didn't take.
Aside from Leicester, I struggle to see where we will get enough points to beat Derby's record.
And IJ's random subs generator must have made the bet 365 crowd a fortune today. Chasing a game- bring on a CB!

The starting 11 was much what I expected and apart from Gronbaek for Sugawara is what I would have chosen Why play a FB as a m/f when you have a natural m/field player on the bench
When they scored where were our centre backs?Were we zonal marking or man to man marking?
And up to the we had dominated the half
To see Frnandez subbed off at half time for tall Paul was unbelievable. But he beat that when he brought on Archer At that stage we had a back 4,2 holding players,two wide players and 2 centre forwards Not an attacking m/f player in sight Just when you thought it couldn't get worse and we were chasing a draw he brings on Jack Stevens Why?
