Yes, it was a disappointing result, but I have seen calls for Harry to be sacked, Barton to leave the club as he is a liability and Benayoun as a truly awful signing! We lost, yes, it is annoying, but we still played alright, and are still 1st, although probably going 2nd because of Burnley. Redknapp has done well this season, we could not get a better manager in, sacking him would be ridiculous. Barton has been player of the season for me. He gets sent off yes, looked unfair to me, but is not a liability! And we saw 20 mins of Benayoun. So while its disappointing the reaction of some fans today has been ridiculous. |  |

Just a bad day at the office yesterday. Didn't play well from start to finish and Leicester came with a plan which was effective though not pretty to watch. My gut reaction before this game was we would screw it up and so it proved. Usual Christmas blues, but hey, no need to fret. Glad we are still in the top grouping of this tough, unpredictable division and I will continue to take each game as it comes. |  |

Yes, I think we've been lucky. I reckon that but for a hair's breadth we could be on easily ten or a dozen less points, maybe more. Counter-factual I know, but that's the way I feel.
I'm not saying that we haven't got a great squad, I just don't think we're seeing the results, not least in goals scored, that we should be seeing.
Time will tell, I hope this amazingly high quality squad suddenly clicks and we are the ones who are on a run of seven or eight wins. I just don't think we have clicked yet really........... a tight defence is lovely but Leicester proved the obvious today, one goal and shut up shop, 11 behind the ball, and we looked toothless. We were top of the league and their goalie had probably the easiest game he'll have all season. |
Other than Yeovil, where have we been "lucky" this season? We've played numerous games where the oppositions keeper has been man of the match, we've consistently outplayed teams both home and away, more often than not creating more chances than the opposition. I would say we've been more unlucky in a number of these games than lucky. |  | | |

As for Yossi, for the short period he was on he looked sound enough. I saw one comment criticising him for being out muscled by the Leicester second half, absolutely ridiculous.
That was me mate. you misquoted me ,I did not say out muscled ..I did say out paced,
and I find it "absolutely ridiculous" that he lost to a 15 stone center back who had been on the pitch for 75 mins and our bright new hope had fresh legs.
It seems you cant critique the transfer policy on here without people frothing at the mouth like a women's institute member dreaming of top TV'tec Luther in his Johnny kwango leopard skin briefs.

A couple of thoughts..
Have a look at the incident again with Yossi and the centre half. Whether outmuscled or outpaced I think your assessment is unfair on Yossi and again my view is to judge him on 15 minutes (him or any other player for that matter) is not sensible.
Have a look at some of my posts. I can probably be called out for lots of things but sniping and negativity are not amongst them (in my view).
I don't agree with your views, but it's a game of opinions and that is why we have message boards.
As for your use of composition and punctuation, show me a comment I have written about your inability to use these. You will not find one. I am not an elitist.
Finally I have had cancer. Using it as you did when you you say " was dark humour" is always risky in the written form when people are guessing at your intent.
Having said all that I have no problem with you or your posts. Happy just to see things differently to you.

I thought we were the better team playing better football for longer periods whereas Leicester had 2 shots on goal and scored one of them.

On the plus side, we're still second.
Meanwhile, a few buckets of cold water:
Basically the entire season, our game plan is to go out and do 'only just enough', and sometimes, that needs a bit of luck, and sometimes even that isn't sufficient.
Our go-to attacker is Austin (11 out of 24 league goals, 9 other scorers with none scored more than 2). Apart from Austin, there is no Plan B.
Barton has improved his game, but better yet has improved his temperament enormously. Unfortunately he just showed that Joey 'I'm-up-for-an-early-shower' Barton is still available with minimal provocation. It really has to be 'Saint Joey' or the WUMmers will never leave him alone. |  |

Compare the number of posts/thread/views on the Blackpool game to the Leicester game - far more for the latter.

I would quite like to feel that our league position actually reflects the way we have played. I don't feel like that. I think we have been lucky, really lucky, enough times to put us where we are. I reckon that our very able and strong squad isn't doing itself, or us, justice. |

I agree I do think there has been a massive over reaction today.
It wasn't fun to watch, Leicester played the perfect away performance, basically what we try to do most games. It's very boring but often works.
My biggest concern is still only having one striker. We just didn't have enough in the box. It's not realistic to expect Austin to do it every week. We missed chances, sadly that happens but we just didn't have enough support in the box / forward areas to create more in the 2nd half.
I find it impossible to understand how such an expensively assembled squad can have only 1 striker. I also cannot understand how we signed Chevaron and didn't even use him to give Austin a rest for the last minutes of games we were winning?? [Post edited 22 Dec 2013 8:14]

Our position flatters the quality of our play and I wondered what would happen when we met one of the top clubs. Now I know. Having seen so many games where we have won by luck or Clint Hill headers off the line or Rob Green unexpected super saves when performing dreary football I predicted we would lose this game 0-2 and wasn't far out.
Having said that things are much better than last season and Harry is doing his best with what he has. At the start of the season I expected us to finish just outside the play-offs. Now I think we could actually be in amongst them, but we need a lot more if we are dreaming of going up automatic.
The problem for me and I suspect some others is the boring football we are playing in the hope of nicking games 1-0. It isn't good enough and its turning me and probably many more off the club I've supported for many years. If this is the new QPR way, I can't see them filling LR let alone a 40k capacity new stadium.
It may be an over-reaction, but its my reaction and I'm glad to say family commitments meant I didn't go to this game particularly as I knew what to expect. Even Barton didn't disappoint by his return to his inbuilt pathetic petulant attitude. |  |

I thought we got mugged a little in my opinion.
They had 2 decent chances and took one.
We had several chances/one on ones and at least 2 good pen shouts but didnt put them away. That part of our game is a problem.
Thought we outplayed Leicester for most of the game apart from the counter attacks they had near the end of the game.
The Barton sending off is a joke really. Their player run into him and goes down like he is shot. Barton doesnt help himself by constantly getting on the refs back.
The ref was terrible. Absolute joke but he wont be the last we see.
Seen posts saying BAE had a mare. Thought he was ok, has played better but wasnt at fault for their goal, that was the 2 centre halfs. Also joke of a booking for him as well, Vardy was already on his way down and BAE only slightly touched him on his shoulder, never a booking or a free kick, right in front of me and the lino couldnt wait to start waiving his flag as the cameras were on him.
Have to say also that Austin was as much at fault with the little spat they had. Reacted like a kid because he didnt get the ball he wanted. Some one waves their arms at me like that i would have a go back as well.
We have played a lot worse and won this year.
Notts Forest next. Hopefully get a result there and i fancy us against Watford. |  |
