I am actually really looking forward to this game. We could do with the confidence boost that comes from smashing a team a couple of rungs below us. Walsall are 13th in League one and have scored 2 goals in three matches.

I'm gonna predict 3-0 to the Super Hoops!

Here is what the BBC have to say about the match:

TEAM NEWS
Bobby Zamora will miss QPR's Capital One Cup clash with Walsall after sustaining a gash to the head.

New signing Jose Bosingwa is set to start, as is Shaun Wright-Phillips but Alejandro Faurlin and Kieron Dyer are unlikely to feature.

Richard Taundry is pushing for a return from a hamstring injury for Walsall.

Febian Brandy is not expected to be available due to a hamstring injury but the Saddlers have no new injury problems.

MATCH FACTS
QPR
-They were winners in 1967, when West Brom were beaten 3-2 in the final, and Rodney Marsh was among their scorers.
-Last season's second round humiliation by League One Rochdale was their third successive defeat in the League Cup.
-Mark Hughes' team are in danger of a third straight League Cup loss to lower league opposition at Loftus Road.
-They have failed to reach the third round in six of the last eight seasons.
Walsall
-The Saddlers were semi-finalists in 1984.
-The 1-0 home win over Brentford was the first time they had successfully negotiated the first round in six seasons.
-This is only their second appearance in the second round in nine years.
-Walsall last eliminated a top-flight club in October 1984, when Coventry were on the wrong end of a 4-2 aggregate score in the second round.
-They have scored no more than one goal in any of their last 11 League Cup ties.

It's going to be a sad drive back for him.

We had a couple of thousand up there for a 3rd round FA cup game, three years ago (I know, huge support), but Sheff Weds away in the early rounds of the league cup - time off work, overnight stay, weakened team, predictable defeat...I know I really couldn't be ars ed and doubt more than a couple of hundred bothered.

Having said that, what were you doing listening to your match on commentary? Seems like most of you couldn't be ar sed to travel a few stops down the Central line from Greenford/Northolt/Ruislip to watch your mob. People in glass houses and all that.

More than a couple of stops from North Notts for me as it happens.

Similar distance as SW London to Sheffield, then?

Why the F**K have we got two threads now ongoing where people are taking a pop (aimed specifically to get a reaction frm Konk) about how many Fulham took to Yorkshire mid week, when most of us could not be arsed to go to a home match last night and we had 6K there??????

Konk, it's also partly your fault for biting. Familiarity breeds contempt and all that - and despite your posts being intelligent and articulate (99% of the time) responding within minutes to a dig does seem a little like stalking.

Poll: With no leg room, knees killing me, do I just go now or stay for the 2nd half o?

Probably because my initial comment that he replied to was nothing more than a joke and he got a bit precious about it.
Let himself down from his usual posting to be honest.

I know I'm probably guilty of stalking*, but I just knew there would be a few digs at our support.

The Fulham boards are full of suicidal folk this morning. I'm avoiding them.

*To be fair, I only look at this board from work, when I'm desperate for distractions and limited in just what I can browse.

Not being precious, mate. Just pointing out that whilst our away support is generally pretty/pis s poor, if fans of other clubs don't personally trek up and down the country, then they're probably not best placed to dig us out for also stopping indoors.

And whilst you may have had a health issue, I'm sure that many local fans who weren't at the game, also fell into the same 'couldn't be arsed' camp as me and almost everyone else at Fulham.

As I said, big difference between won't and can't.
I'm 150 miles away recovering from an op, you didn't fancy it.
Having a pop at me then is a bit rich really.

Mate, I'm sorry you weren't able to travel and I hope you're making a good recovery; I didn't know your personal circumstances - your health or where you live. My point is/was, that people have all sorts of reasons for not going to matches - and for a midweek, 350 mile round trip, early round of league cup, 'I can't be ar sed' seems perfectly acceptable to me.

I expect our away support to get dug out by Rangers fans - I expect there are some who got quite excited when they saw the draw and the prospect of us having 100 fans rattling round in the Leppings Lane End - but we're hardly alone in giving the League cup a swerve as everybody's gates show. Even Rangers.

And I meant to add - I wasn't having a 'pop' at you - you can't get tone on the internet, but trust me that it was (horrible word ahoy) 'banter'. No offence meant.

It's fine honestly.
The initial comment was just a joke though.
I intimated that there was ONE Fulham fan there, I was hardly being serious.

It would have been at least 5.

It's a shame because I'm of a certain age and can remember when the League Cup actually meant something.
