On that basis, how come he's not playing brass band music? That's what "the area's known for"
But of course, that's ridiculous, isn't it? Times have moved on, haven't they?
Ooops, no they f**cking well haven't! We're still stuck in a very narrow version of the 1980's early 90's.
And the reason this "crap debate" (Chaff) keeps appearing its because many people are totally naffed off with the same old same old same old same old same old same old same old same old CRAP!!!

Again this comes back to the old issue of creating a match day experience which adds value to the floating/non regular supporters. How can pre-match/half time entertainment make these people attend more games? Should there be a wider selection of music played? Should more announcements be made about forthcoming games, offers in the club shop, away travel etc? Should local singers/bands be given time to play/sing before some games? Should we have cheerleaders?
Die hard supporters will come no matter what music is played whether you like Hindi or not. Shouldn't the question be what entertainment should be offered to attract more and wider range of supporter?
Careful! If you start thinking like that them that have been coming for years will complain that you're pandering to those that have been coming 5 minutes while they've been coming for 50 years man and boy!

I'm not disappointed Tom, just trying to apply some perspective to the debate
When I started watching Dale in the mid 1960's I'd have been wondering wtf was going on if they were still playing ONLY music from 20 years ago - I understand that Glenn Miller bloke was popular in 1945, but doesn't that just highlight how ridiculous the current music timewarp being played is?

Cue: "Lets do the timewarp yeahhhhhh"
But he does play some shite 60's stuff. In fact, too much shite 60's stuff.

Too much of anything is shite - that's the point!
I'm happy to listen to other people's tastes in music, and I suspect virtually everyone would be, but not the same thing every fookin game until even the concept of ad nauseam becomes stretched
For those with eclectic tastes in music the half time choices might be a bit repetitive. I don't mind that as much as the quality of the sound system. At the Sandy Lane end, right of the goals when facing the pitch, there is a speaker attached to the edge of the roof that has been knackered for at least ten years. Unfortunately not so knackered that it doesn't emit crackles and scrapes instead of something tuneful, at a decibel level to be avoided. Archimedes said give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum strong enough and I will lift the world. If only I had a handle long enough and a hammer big enough.......

If Archimedes were a Dale fan he'd of been better off sorting out the friggin' pitch drainage.

Exactly. Some variety is all we ask for and less decibels. In isolation there is nothing wrong with the music he chooses. Week-in and week-out the same garbage at an unacceptably loud volume becomes monotonous.
The longer the situation continues, the quicker people will assume that the club is silently 'sticking two fingers up' to those who object.

Minority or not, all paying supporters - customers - are surely entitled to have their opinions and wishes considered. As I said, just offer some 'variety'. It's surely not too much to ask - or is it ?
This subject has been raised often enough now for those responsible to do something about it. Riding roughshod over people with different musical tastes, simply because they refuse to acknowledge there is a difference of opinion, is not acceptable.
And it's still too loud and it would be, whatever was being played.

The club has been (quite rightly) criticised for a lot recently, but you're getting a bit bloody melodramatic now. Sticking two fingers up by not changing the music genre on the sound system?! Calm down.

Should we rotate the pie selection every "week"?
The draught ales available in Studds?
That bloody rag TVOS always has the same stuff in it.
As I said earlier, it really is limited exposure whilst in the ground in the overall scheme of things.
