Swansea City v Sheffield Wednesday : Match day thread on 22:54 - Feb 12 by Treforys_Jack

He's either the dullest manager we've ever had or he's doing it on purpose to get the boot.

We're 17th in the league as it stands tonight. We've won one game in 9. We are heading in the wrong direction with this manager. First half of the season he was inconsistent, but picked up enough points to calm the nerves. Now he's consistently bad. At best he's incompetent, at worst given his recent behaviour, comments in the media and bizarre selection/tactics, he's being insubordinate to get an early pay off and go join his mate Russ Martin on a golf course and beach somewhere.

This simply can't continue.

Should have started with the same starting 11 as Sunday.

Htf do you expect us to score goals with fulton behind vip up front.

Williams is a joke, he is taking the p!ss out of the fans with his total disregard in managing our club.

I thought I saw William's change thing at some point in the first half, we weren't playing that bad but he changed it. It looked as if he was having a go a Tymon telling him to push up high and wide rather than what was working to a degree which was starting receiving from deep full back position with midfielders in front of him who he could make runs off enabling him to come onto the ball with ay that could get us up the park in numbers William issued his instructions Tymon to stay up high and hug the touchline it meant we then tried to progress the ball solely down the flank to poor effect.
In the second half at a stoppage in play it seemed as if Delacroix was asking Tymon to come short but Tymon seemed adamant that hugging the touch line high up the pitch was what he was asked to do which I presumed was happening give the hand gestures by the both players.
A change of tactic that failed but it is a tactic that has been shown to be folly so often, lack of movement filling the wings expecting them to produce something from a static start.
Game we didn't deserve to win but a game they really didn't really do enough to win the game without the gift we shared

I wish it would happen as well! But, I just don't see it happening anytime soon with AC hiring his buddy Montague as DOF.

He was playing like it didn’t matter (they all were to differing degrees) but after tonight I’d drop him and play Delcroix and Cabango. It’s not as if we want him in the shop window because we are getting nought for him anyway. That may buck him up.

Good points; I agree. Darling's stock has fallen with last 2 performances, imo. He's probably wondering why Sheff U didn't pick him up but I think Sheff U are thankful that they dodged a bullet & relieved that they signed Holding instead. Could it be LW's poor communication skills coming to bare? Most of his players seem lost on the field, and maybe a lot of the players are trying to figure how to save their careers and get out of Swansea.

Darlings wayward pass was nowhere near a white shirt. He wasn't under any pressure. The only player he could have been playing towards was slightly blocked off.
You have to wonder if they have it so drilled into them that they must play it short, that a long option is never to even be considered.

We gave it away several times like that and were just lucky we were not punished more often.

Very reminiscent of Wood last year coming back from injury where in his first got back just after half time his stupid pass was from the corner flag to the goalie Rushworth who under press mistimed his clearance leading to Martin's Southampton going 2-0 up killing the game off that was under Sheenhan's tenure and last game in charge but the Martin indoctrination of "the play must pass the ball to feet at all cost" remained in Wood's head, it is killing us leading to us being picked off, stupid passes in stupid areas of the pitch leaving us with no cover for those mistakes.

Stupid as is constantly pulling players out wide all the time to make the touchline look like a queue for a bus while leaving the chance to progress through the middle of the pitch redundant and up up the flank easy to defend.

Why do we persist in trying to play three or four supposedly clever short little passes among the two or three players who have fought hard to get back possession instead of then getting the ball out of the less crowded part of the pitch, stupid win the ball get it out of the congested area quickly to take advantage of space left in other areas of the pitch to allow us to get forward without a swarm of opposition players around us.

We caused Sheff Wed some problems with get Vipotnik when he had runners off him but we stopped doing it in the pursuit of playing down the wings putting crosses into to the box with no-one in there because half the forward midfielders have been on the wings to stand in he bus stop.

Williams changed things in that first half to a rigid format that the opposition covered easier we then tried to force the issue by giving stupid passes. Again.

Luke Williams talking about ‘The Swansea away’ and making up his own hilarious virtue signalling bullshit has been the highlight of this miserable season. He’s bluffed and bullshitted the supporters and anyone else gullible enough to listen to his mindless drivel. Enough is enough. If radical change doesn’t take place within the next few days- we are down. But the club is now being run by a cadre of utter mediocrities and incompetents. It’s a perfect storm of doom. Prepare for the worst.

"Yossarian- the very sight of the name made him shudder. There were so many esses in it. It just had to be subversive" (Catch 22)

This ......our performances, results, and quite obviuos mess we are in is only helping drive those below us who see a glimmer of hope of survival, while we glimpse league 1

after 12 months we have regressesed as a team, a club , and a fanbase.

COLEMAN>........both you and LW should have gone, months ago,

Please can you manage our team. Thank you.

The hiring of Montague could have sent us down.
Andy PAndy cannot now loose face by sacking this useless piece of $shite immediately, so this situation ain’t gonna change any time soon.
I haven’t experienced such an inept manager since Cullis, he’s that bad.
He is also dangerous for us because he doesn’t know how bad he is, and wtf are his staff doing about it?
Honestly,we are on the precipice of relegation if he isn’t sacked, and by employing his buddy, our new DOF has now prolonged his day of execution, and with games running out, the Lunatics have definitely taken over the asylum.

The only good thing about last night was the pre match meal with my wife....after Sundays great lucky win I thought we were on the up again but I was so wrong. The slow sideways passing a la Grimes was back and it seemed that only Ronald and O'Brien seemed to have any forward thinking passion in them. Service to Vipotnik was very poor and yet he is a scapegoat and was replaced by Bianchini. Why not keep both on the pitch......
LW scurrying down the tunnel at full time was pathetic. Why doesnt he just bite the bullet and walk? Unfortunately football managers always seem to wait for a pay off for failure.

The cross by Ronald for Vipotnik was the only decent play on the night for me. The cross was perfect for where Vipotnik should have been as a number 9, he wasn't as usual because he doesn't have a football brain. People complain that he doesn't get the service, well when he does he is nowhere to be seen, a waste of a shirt and should be moved on.

Right, I’ve slept on it. And I don’t feel any better or different about last night. Players not being @rsed and I’m of the opinion LW wants the sack.

If this Montague chap has anything about him, he’ll recommend that Williams goes straight away. After all, he’s a professional director of football who must have the best interests of his employers at heart. No room for sentiment. This is not Sunday morning football where you’ll get favouritism from the manager to his pet player regardless of form. This is serious, professional stuff and he must do the right thing. And we all know what that is.

Now, Plymouth winning and Derby appointing Eustace
Meanwhile we allow this cretin to crush us

This with knobs on, when Viponic is in the team, it's like playing with ten men.
You can have a striker not scoring through lack of service, but the very least you should expect of your strker is hold the ball up or cause the opponents defence problems, Vipotnic does neither.

Since we left the Vetch, I've seen some very poor strikers at our new home, Vipotic has to be up there with some of the worst.
