Thing is Grimes hasn’t and won’t say anything. The only people who know atm are him and his close family and agent. He can’t be accused of lying when he hasn’t said anything and people reporting it’s nothing to do with the current situation are in La la land.

Matt Grimes is the ultimate JB and we owe him a huge debt of thanks.
Matt can see the way the club is going under LW and has sacrificed himself by leaving the club for a reasonable fee allowing us to replace some players and getting rid of LW.

Keith, Grimes might say something like it's not the current situation because maybe he wouldn't want to make things worse, or at least try not to.
I don't use X, tried it for a few days but ditched it and never looked back, There are bound to be a lot of rumours and mostly BS ones.
