Thank you Nigel Farage 10:22 - Dec 20 with 1820 viewsjohnlangy

Now that's a thread title I never thought i'd create.

I said to my wife a number of times over the last five years or so that soon there's going to be a revolution in this country. And not one with bullets, barricades and beheadings. And Reform could very well be that revolution.

Millions of people are finally saying i'm not taking this any more. Whatever colour of government is elected 98% of us are essentially shat on. No matter how much money there is there's never enough to pay a huge number of people enough to live a decent life because 'the country can't afford it' while at the same time the 1 or 2% at the top have money thrown at them because they are the people at the top.

I'm not a Reform voter but i'm sure many millions more will become Reform voters over the next 4 years up till the next election. And for no other reason, I believe, than they are not Labour or Conservatives. They've got no policies that i'm aware of other than cutting immigration and what they are saying about that seems to be ridiculous. But people don't seem to care. They've just had enough.

Don't have to wait 4 years, the Senedd elections are in 18 months.

"The latest Barn Cymru poll released earlier in December by YouGov for ITV Wales and Cardiff University’s Wales Governance Centre suggests that Plaid Cymru could be the largest party in the Senedd come 2026. The poll put Plaid on 24 percent of the vote, ahead of Labour and Reform UK who both were on 23 percent, and the Conservatives on 19 percent."

https://www.electoral-reform.org.uk/where-next-for-welsh-democracy-as-plaid-cymr

Reform on the same percentage as Labour at the moment, behind Plaid. The labour collapse in Wales is going to be as big as the conservatives at the last GE, I never thought I would see the day. The British/Welsh public have had enough.

I presume the government is running scared as they are trying to pass laws to prevent Elon Musk giving money to their election campaign.

People have had enough (except those who lean to left).

My politics lean towards the left but for me Labour in its present guise & since the demise of Michael Foot has become a party for who the waifs, strays, wokes and now Globalists , it like the Torys have had their day and a complete reset of UK politics is needed , hopefully Reform will be the catalyst for that reset. The old ways are not working in favour of the majority in fact we're getting poorer , unhealthier and with it a shortening of life expectancy . There is no one in Government nor in opposition that can be called a statesman someone who believes in the country and its people ,hence the upsurge in popularity for Reform, Farage is no more a statesman than the rest but what he does say resonates with the silent majority who will see Reform as a chance for them to have their voices heard..

The voters don't want the hard left, they rejected Corbyn, so Starmer had no option but to go more centre

O the hypocrisy I quote " The Prime Minister's spokesman said: "You have got the legislative priorities for the parliamentary set out in the King's Speech. The commitment remains as it the manifesto to protect democracy from threats to foreign interference by strengthening the rules around donations to political parties." But it seems to be ok to try to influence American voters when it comes to their elections. , voluntarily or not it was done with Labours consent.

More people voted for Corbyn than they did for Starmer.

If Corbyn had come along a few years later he’d be in Downing Street now.

Yes they lied about him being a terrorist sympathiser just because there was lots of evidence of him spending the best part of forty years cuddling up to members of the IRA, Hamas and Hezbollah and using his own voice to call them friends. They called him an antisemite despite there being lots of evidence that he has publicly hated Israel all his life and has famously supported those aforementioned groups who would kill all Jews given the chance. His retweeting of grotesque archaic caricatures of shady looking Jewish men with racist tropes such as big hooked noses and circular glasses playing a board game on the backs of downtrodden oppressed people perpetuating the age old racist conspiracy theory that the Jews are controlling the world was simply his way of bringing peace to the Middle East.

How dare they print such things just because it’s fact and there’s forty odd years of evidence to support it?

Reform will do nothing, Farage got all the sound bites to get the attention, but there's no substance to the man.
I bet he's still a member of the Tory party and that's where is ambition lies, dreams of being their party leader, he'd drop Reform as soon as he senses a legitimate chance of achieving his dream.

Yes, Farage is a chancer but he may just be around at the right time for him.

I've been saying for years we need change. For decades now Labour, Tory and Liberals have been shafting us. They are the ones all "in it together" and they continue to take a larger share of the pie whilst giving us less and less.

Everywhere you look services are being cut but the prices are still rising. The cost of everything is rising more quickly, the call it a cost of living crisis yet the corporations are announcing record profits. The only crisis is prices, we are being ripped off by everybody, it's not a cost of living crisis, it's a scam.

Reform imo will become bigger than the man, everyday folk have just had enough of the political elite. Labour had a chance to at least bring some hope into peoples lives but failed dramatically by spectacularly shooting themselves with a budget not fit for purpose, alienating large swathes of the voting public , going back on key manifesto pledges . Why would he ,if what you say is true, turn back to the Torys when the party he leads is doing such a good job of bringing previously voting Torys to his party .
He's not the messiah that's for sure but I'm willing to give him a chance , what's the alternative?

You do not understand what you see with your own eyes. UK has replaced young energetic east Europeans with older less active. Hindus and Muslims.

Brexit was pre Commonwealth and that means Indians Bangladeshis and Pakistanis. They are looking for work in the UK Asian black economy.

The Christian Europeans are Welsh within one generation. You have been duped.

Oh I'm not supporting Farage but unlike Corbyn, Farage may be peaking at the right time for HIMSELF even if it goes badly for the rest of us.

I look at the state of this country and the people running it and there is only one word...despair.
