Maybe owners need to be a bit more savvy and not be so easily blinded by what they are told/presented with, a bit gullible if you ask me.

We had someone join at work a couple of years ago who told everyone above him everything they wanted to hear (about income revenue etc) and they lapped it up. I sussed out his BS within about 2 weeks but had to deal with the BS all that time, it was painful. He didn't even hit 50% of his promised revenue. He recently got made redundant.
