Manager for what?

Depending on how good his PowerPoint is, he could be appointed as manager, DoF, CEO and Chairman.

United are obviously just a stepping stone for him to the QPR job but he needs to prove himself there first. Too early IMO.

I am sure Ruud is dreaming of the day when he can manage a cash strapped lower league club at the foot of the table with most of its better players semi permanently injured.

Never knowingly right.

I've often thought why a top manager - a proven winner (not Ruud), rarely takes on the challenge of managing a lower league team and leading them up the divisions in true 'Football Manager' style!

With financial security from their career, they'd test their skills without relying on a £200m war chest. If they've already won stuff, it'd be a true test of their ability. Sure, not that glamorous, and reputation risks are higher if things go wrong, but wouldn't the challenge be worth it? Pep at Wrexham... just because he can.

Of course the higher up you go player ability comes more into it, yet it's still rare to see an elite coach (who isn't past it) testing himself at a lower level. I can think of Bielsa doing it at Leeds with a somewhat average team, without even speaking English!

digswellhoop; genuine question as we know that you have literacy issues, I'm genuiney curious to know if "digswellhoop" was the username that you originally wanted?

Or maybe it was "dogswillpoop" or some other variation. I genuienly don't know, but would be interested to hear..
