Our Pomp and Ceremony - Match thread vs PFC 11:04 - Oct 15 with 44513 viewsSouthAfricanRanger

I know very early in the week…..but planning to attack Pompey from the whistle takes mental planning just as Spike Milligan had to deal with his mental struggles in his “Where have all the bullets gone?” brilliant read. Being a QPR supporter has recently (again) been mentally challenging too, but we will overcome this temporary phase and go onto better things, like Spike did 👍👍👍

And yes, it is 754pm in Aus- not touched a drop. So the paragraph above is written with a clear mind, whether it makes sense or not. 😀😀

A 2 1 win for us. Dembele with a bullet pile driver and Frey with a bullet header.

Which was the last team to go an entire season without a clean sheet?

Probably us😉

Celar didn't even try for that cross. Even Frey was yelling at hime

Celar couldn't get that. He found space, Smyth put a good, but blind, ball in

I’m usually in the “it’s only October” camp but the thing with this kind of situation is that there is much to catch up on and you now end up playing most of the season at the bottom in order to probably escape the drop at the end. It just makes for yet another grim season at best.

Pompey are so bad

Yet we can’t do the simple things

Saito looking bright but header should be testing keeper more and that low ball in - anywhere else and we have a good chance

I'm not. To be worried is to give these hooped c*nts too much importance.

F**k it. What's the worst that can happen? We go down, lose a bunch of these useless c*nts and then have a half-decent season where we finish 8th.

Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. He runs like a cheetah, his crosses couldn't be sweeter. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore.

It can’t keep being the manager. This team has torpedoed under how many managers now? Club has some foundational rot going on.

It's a bit like Strictly Come Dancing really, half of them are professionals and the other half...

Maybe that's harsh but man alive, our middle name is "can't" - careful now - - at the moment.

Can't defend, can't finish, can't win. Grim.

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

With respect...we need more than cameos. In all seriousness, how many of these players are good enough for this level? That is the only caveat I am willing to give MC as he struggles to get a tune out of them. Of course they were the "type" of player he wanted... so I've probably just contradicted myself🤔

The QPR curse by Bluce_Ree 29 Aug 2014 10:48
"I'm quite seriously thinking there's a curse on this club." - TheBlob (on the Faurlin thread).

Let's have a look.

We are the only team to get a billionaire investor and still be rubbish.

Whenever we get supposedly good players, they end up being ridiculously average.

Jamie Cureton is my favourite example.

Apps/(Goals)

1996—2000 Bristol Rovers 168 (68)
2000—2003 Reading 108 (50)
2003—2004 Busan I'Park 21 (4)
2004—2005 Queens Park Rangers 43 (6)

When a young player gets poached by a bigger club it rarely ever works out for them. Sterling goes to Liverpool and ends up being the first foetus to play for England in the World Cup and is brilliant. I bet if he played for us still he'd be shit now. We'd find a way.

Faurlin. Genuinely nice guy and the only 'classy' midfielder we've had in a while who actually seems to care and be any good. Three ACLs in three years. F*ck.

Chelsea. Our biggest rivals. They get a billionaire investor. They then win everything including the Champions League. They then go on to have the worst ever go at defending the trophy and end up in the Europa League and still manage to f*cking win that as well. Will probably win the league this year too.

End up with the peoples' choice for England manager and get relegated. Admittedly he's got us back up by the skin of Bobby Zamora's teeth but even so.

End up with a terrible manager (Hughes) who then goes onto Stoke and makes them better.

Shaun Wright-Phillips. He's played for England so many times and is literally unable to play football when you put him in a QPR shirt.

Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. He runs like a cheetah, his crosses couldn't be sweeter. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore.

I don't trust Nourry, and am rapidly losing faith with our newly contracted manager and his clearly inept sidekick. This doesn't look like a competiitve squad - it can't defend, its midfield is missing in action, and we have no strikers worthy of the name. We have little leadership and even less resilience.

Seriously, if even Portsmouth can take points off us while being gash, where's the hope?
