Fa Cup replays on 12:22 - Apr 18 with 8969 views | SuddenLad | It's a scandalous decision and another kick in the balls for smaller clubs. There have been many magical cup replays involving teams from the lower echelons of the FL and non-league and many clubs have benefitted massively from the money they have earned from favourable draws. I have no idea what the FA are thinking by doing this. It penalises the very clubs that need it most.

Fa Cup replays on 13:01 - Apr 18 with 8876 views | sxdale | Oh come on, we all need to have more empathy for these premier league teams. They have so many games to play, so they obviously can't have replays. They need the time off to bring football to Saudi Arabia, China the USA. Those poor supporters who don't get to see their teams play and will pay $1000's of dollars for the privilege.
Fa Cup replays on 13:44 - Apr 18 with 8762 views | 49thseason | The same clubs playing each other over and over again has become tiresome for many fans especially the ones supporting clubs outside the top six, the whole point of the FA Cup is the potential for upsets... the money men don't like upsets.. and once again the FA has backed the moneybags vs the rest of us... but... the Premiership has deigned to pass £33m to the lower leagues to recompense them for not getting replays. And you can bet the Championship will get 90% of that with the lower echelons of the National League getting about 50 quid and a warm handshake to cover the cost of travelling from Cornwall to Blyth.. it would be more cost effective to just concede at round 1.

Fa Cup replays on 14:49 - Apr 18 with 8637 views | dingdangblue | When we drew with Man U at Old Trafford in the League Cup no one complained there wasn't a replay. It will soon just become the norm that its 90 mins (maybe extra time) then penalties in the FA Cup. Obviously lots of nostalgia about replays of the past but once we've had a few seasons without them it will be forgotten. We might have knocked out Spurs had it gone to pens and been in an FA Cup Quarter Final instead of -4 temps at Wembley and a treacherous journey to London and back.

Fa Cup replays on 17:51 - Apr 18 with 8321 views | EllDale | If the big teams were as good as they think they are then they wouldn’t need replays anyway would they? They’ve demeaned the competition for years anyway by playing weakened teams. I’d kick the Premier League under 21 teams out of the EFL Trophy in retaliation! [Post edited 18 Apr 17:55]

Fa Cup replays on 19:24 - Apr 18 with 8125 views | DaleFan7 | Not surprising that this was done without consulting anyone outside the PL. The back handers that the FA will receive will be worth more to them than the outcry. The only way anything will change is if everyone outside the PL refuses to play in the FA cup next season, which unfortunately won't happen. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

That would be good if all the EFL teams did that but the easiest way to have sorted this would be to ask the clubs playing each other whether they want a replay. If one team says no then so be it. That could lead second replays and the like. It would generate the teams who need it a few bob extra and keep the sports channels happy too.

Alternatively, without the income from the Spurs (and Newcastle two years later) replay we could have been in even bigger financial trouble earlier than we were. Or we could have lost on pens to Millwall the round before.

Likely they wanted to push this through ahead of a regulator being established

Fa Cup replays on 06:17 - Apr 19 with 7650 views | pnc4eva1 | Another reason why I am slowly falling out of love with the beautiful game. Replays are part of the beauty of the FA cup. It's a historic competition that is slowly being turned into a money earner for the bigger clubs. Relays have been reduced to just one replay after the times when fourth round matches couldn't go ahead because of so many replays of third round matches. I understand that was a good decision. However, to remove a potential income earner for smaller clubs and a banana skin for bigger clubs ruins the FA cup

Or maybe just lost on pens instead at home against Spurs, then not even had the pleasure to watch Dale at Wembley once again
Fa Cup replays on 14:20 - Apr 19 with 7143 views | 49thseason | From the FA's website...lots of stuff about the romance of the competition, exactly what their latest edict seeks to put an end to.....What a shower they are. ( my thoughts in brackets) "More than simply the showpiece occasion to bring down the curtain on an English season ( well, thats not happening any more), it became the world’s cup final, the best loved and most watched domestic game on earth, the fixture that people all over the planet would do anything they could to catch. It is the competition that fostered professionalism, created and fuelled the rivalry between clubs great and small ( but we dont give an actual toss about the smaller ones) , instigated the game’s global television market ( this is the bit that really interests us) and yet still reminds us that, be they ever so mighty, the biggest and the best in the world can still be brought down to earth by a committed bunch of journeymen ( but not after a replay because the high and mighty dont like them) , hurling themselves around on a mud heap (and presumably there will be more mud heaps if the cash from lucrative replays against Premiership clubs are not happening any more) on a bitingly cold January day. " We should also ask where the £33m the Premiership is apparently coughing up in lieu of replays will be going... is it a one off? Will all participants get the same amount and if not why not?

There was no pleasure in that trip to Wembley although I did blag free transport from Chelmsford on a Spurs supporters coach. Now if they had completed the new stadium it would have been different

To see a club our size play at Wembley doesn't happen very often in a lifetime regardless of the weather, for that alone it's always a pleasure, similarly when we played Stockport there the weather was absolutely gash too, it still didn't spoil the pleasure

In addition, to go in at half time at 1-1 and with Hendo hitting the post after we'd drawn level was very enjoyable, irrespective of the eventual outcome I felt as proud of Dale during that half time interval as at any other time up to that point

Andy Cannon hit the post after Hendo forced the keeper into rushing his kick out.

Excellent to see the continuing inconsistent rules in play - penalising Coventry for a marginal (though correct) offside, but failing abysmally to spot United's keeper taking a massive step forward before saving one spot kick. It should have been retaken.
