Begovic on 12:21 - Mar 12 by numptydumpty | This is a forum of fans opinions and thoughts. None of us have the full facts People being reprimanded for ridiculous claims because they don't agree with the other persons opinion. Err this is a football fans forum. Journalism always has elements of unsubstantiated facts. It's not right but it always has. A fans forum is about fans opinions. Ridiculous that others get lampooned and told not to post just because they 100 percent do not know facts. None of us do, we are fans. My own personal opinion is Begovic is not captain material and it seems a strange choice. There probably isn't a clause in Begovics contract to say he should be captain. It was only said because to me, as captain, he does not seem on the surface to have the right characteristics in my opinion, and it could have been an explanation for this. I personally didn't think he is a leader and his skills are definitely lessened as he enters the last stages of his career but of course will get behind him. He is our player at the moment and never said wouldn't. I don't have anything personally against him and hope he performs but the above is just my viewpoints. Apologies for stating an opinion. Bit mad. My surname is not Cifuentes so clearly I not in 100% of the facts That's nuts If fans are only allowed to post opinions that align with your ideas Antti, then this site would quickly fold as that's its main purpose of being. Fans are all entitled to post whatever they believe to be true. We all have different ideas and opinions but that's what's makes this place a diverse and interesting place to be. If we all in your world had to 💯 agree with each other, this site would spontaneously combust rather rapidly !!!! I am glad we all have different ideas and feel that is actually a very positive thing. If we were all the same, the world would be a very dull place to be. Likewise on a Queens Park Rangers football fans forum !!!! [Post edited 12 Mar 12:32]

Hang on, I'm allowed to have a different opinion to you aren't I? I'm allowed to have the opinion that saying unsubstantiated things about a contract you have knowledge of is silly aren't I? that's my opinion. i never said you couldn't have yours.

You have to scroll across to page three to get to our Asmir. Of all the goalkeepers who have minutes in the Championship this season, only Gavin Bazunu and Ryan Allsopp have worse xG than Begovic. numptydumpty was saying it was poor recruitment, which doesn't seem the most ridiculous of claims.

Considering that the team is mid-table for goals conceded (top 8-10 since Marti took charge), these goalkeeping stats make for pretty sobering reading. [Post edited 12 Mar 15:52]

Begovic on 16:24 - Mar 12 with 3314 views | gazza1 | The bottom line is that Begovic is not a good keeper nor a great signing which many posters posted when we signed him.....and there were many which is to be expected on this MB. As far as being Captain, another pretty poor decision from the decision makers (probably GA) when we have got so many leaders out on the field of play not inside, just, the penalty box. Begovic on 17:45 - Mar 12 with 3240 views | richpr | Has anyone actually met Begovic to know he is not a good leader? Does anyone actually know how much he is earning and what clauses he has in his contract? As for his soccer school..... The Asmir Begović Goalkeeping Academy is an academy specialising in coaching and educating young goalkeepers with branches in Cobham, Surrey, UK, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Heilbronn, Germany. The Academy focuses on providing young, ambitious, and committed goalkeepers an environment where they can maximize their individual development. With the vast experience of our coaches and our founder, we want to help build the next generation of goalkeepers, starting within our local community. What a disgrace - should be concentrating on being captain of QPR. I'd rather he was in the bookies or in the pub. MC picks him every week - he obviously knows him. That's good enough for me. Absolutely fine to critisize his performances but no need to constantly critisize his character.

I thought Begovic was doing fine until recently, made plenty of good saves. Of late his reactions look a liitle slower and he should of done better with Boro's second. Or is it that he has got so much unnecessary abuse on here at least it's making him a nervous wreck at games now. Give the abuse a rest we just may get better performances out of him.

A really poor comment. There has not been a single hint of abuse of Asmir Begovic at games all season. Some players who've played for us in the past could tell you about proper abuse from QPR supporters. He's had fck all. Let's not start trying to pin it on a support base that has been absolutely fantastic all season long, and has travelled the length and breadth of this country in enormous numbers despite everything that's going on, that our Champions League goalkeeper cannot find his own ars with both hands - it's on him. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

A big thank you Clive. With regards to those saying "we need to get behind him, he's all we've got" - I can see the point that in the stadium during a game it might be counterproductive to hurl abuse at him over his lack of movement and growing soccer schools empire, but blowing off steam and complaining about how shÃt he is on a fan forum is completely different. We're really not going to affect his performance from here

I think it was not great recruitment, and if he wants to say it’s poor recruitment I don’t have a problem. All I was saying is that you can’t make up nonsense about a contractual clause and call it subjective opinion. It’s just something made up. I’m not far off numpty in his assessment otherwise.

Asmir Begovic is not hanging out on LFW. Even if he was, he'd be cheered by the weird amount of people for whom he can do no wrong. Message boards are here to discuss players, for better or worse. We can't all creep around saying how good everybody's been for fear of them looking in here and getting upset about it. If they want to look on here and actively seek out criticism then they can't complain when they get some. Same on social media in general, though I do absolutely hate it when people start @ing/copying the handle of the player in so they can see it. Some of the stuff people like Dunne and Armstrong have had like that has been poor, and I wouldn't want people doing that to Begovic either - it delivers it straight to their phone, they don't have to go looking for it. I think I did it once, after Hull away, when Barton had got sent off for touching up Tom Huddlestone and was back in the dressing room giving it "the tallest trees catch the most wind" while we were slogging back four hours to London from a game he cost us. In general though I think that's counter productive. Overall, like I say, the support this year has been terrific, when it's had every excuse not to be, so in this weird scramble around looking for somebody blame other than Asmir Begovic for Asmir Begovic's lousy form let's leave the QPR supporters out of it.

Who are the posters ‘for whom he can do no wrong’ then? Literally nobody has said anything to back that up. He’s an average keeper nowadays and has done some good and bad things this season. Nowhere near the best keeper I’ve seen for us but also nowhere near the worst. Quite a few seem to think he can do no right though. 4 hours you say, pal of mine (who lets just say is rather thrifty) could'nt resist the offer of the free coaches the club laid on, only video onboard was the 'On the Buses' film, 5 hours back to London with Blakey, Butler & Olive on loop - thanks Joey Lad! Don't like digging out players who play to the best of their limited ability as you can't ask for more (Ossie!) and probably go overboard on those mugging the club and us fans off, but apart from some of the occasional unfunny crude posts by maybe one or two posters (recent he'd miss his Mum's private parts 4 letter word post comes to mind), not sure I've read anything too derogatory.

I don't agree with a single word you say about Begovic, but you are talking absolute nonsense here. As Clive says, he isn't going to be on this board. However, even the harshest of critics here (me included) have not been abusing him or causing him mental health issues. He's a pro footballer, we're allowed to discuss the fact that we don't think he is any good, that as Captain he shouldn't be on Chelsea podcasts calling them "we" and that he shouldn't be flogging his soccer school and merch one hour after flapping in goals. No-one is "abusing" him that I have seen. They are criticising him, not asking for him to be harmed or his family threatened or racism or anything like that. Criticism is allowed. He will have confronted it all his career. Finally, if you think these critiques hurt him so much, what do you think happens when he is in his goal in front of a packed away end or home end when we are away? Gentle encouragement?! To me, it ranks with that post when someone asked if we had enquired about Ainsworth's mental state when we sacked him. Come on. Perspective. I am sure your favorite son Bego couldn't give a toss what the fans think of a club that (in my view) he cares very little about and will have forgotten inside two minutes of his contract ending.

Well, Robert Enke's life and death tell us that health problems are not laughable. With Begovic, we have no reason to believe that he has health problems. But your overall point is valid.
