I mean it’s all bluster and nonsense as I said in last week’s preview but I am pleased to see and hear him more upbeat. Around the time we interviewed him he looked and sounded absolutely spent.

He's maybe not who we wanted, in a situation not of our making; but it's great to sense how much he wants it to work, and how much he appreciates what the fans are bringing to the party.
Compare that to some miserable fcukers we've had, and it's a 180 change in enthusiasm. Good luck to him!!

He's not very articulate is he? That doesn't bother me on the whole but I do wonder if some of his messages get lost in translation a bit.
What he's saying about the structure really should be very exciting. He's trying to build a core / backbone / soul of this club that we haven't had for many, many years. That's clearly how he got Wycombe punching above their weight and is exactly what we need, particularly with the current FFP financial constraints and how much we've overspent in the last decade.
If we actually ever achieved anything under GA it'll feel extremely special. Not like the plastic promotion (despite the best day of my life) with Redknapp. He'll give us something that we'll relate to and a team that we recognise. Not a 15 stone Nico Krancjar and Pascal Chimbonda every now and again.
I just think he struggles to articulate what he's trying to deliver, especially as it's so far removed from what we've heard from Critchley, Beale and Warburton both philosophically and in its delivery. Hopefully the last couple of weeks have only been the start of a sustained upward shift and we'll be able to see it and feel it and not have to be told about it anymore.
Right behind you Gareth.

Good post.
I also think that some of what he says gets lost as well, so I try not to fuss now if he contradicts himself from interview to interview.
It's definitely good to see him more upbeat. Happy for him.

I like what you're getting at and agree to an extent. But, I'm still troubled by his waste of preseason on tactics ditched after Watford, the lack of player fitness so far and his propensity to contradict himself.
To balance that, I'd love to see him develop a club culture like he did at WW, and I'm sure that's what he's doing. However, that will take years.
When all's said and done, if he can keep us up this season, that'll do me.

Perhaps we now we have reached the point where we can't risk, for FFP, bringing in anyone else without selling someone first.
yeah I guess thats where we are, tomorrow is actually an opportunity for those that want to go to get a move. Southampton have a ton of money to spend and days to do it if Willock turns up tomorrow and turns it on that could see them come in for him as Martin will know he from the last few years
