FT 2-3. Harrogate win.
Poor from Dale. Disjointed, sloppy, no cohesion. Can only get better. Hopefully.

Can't complain about conceding a late winner. from our equaliser we didn't press on & they always looked most likely to nick it. 3 goals that could have all have been prevented with reasonable defending. Fancied us at 2-2 but we just didn't perform from that point on

I'm guessing there will be several changes for Tuesday. There should be. McNulty was poor, Morley anonymous, Odoh running down blind alleys, Lynch indecisive, Dooley ineffective.
Can see Cashman starting on Tuesday. Certainly needs shaking up after that performance.

Early days but we can't afford to sleepwalk for the first 10 games and be playing catch up for the rest of the season. Feel for Stockdale, as he's had a lot of work to do and I'm sure he'd much rather have had his squad in place 4 weeks earlier but unfortunately that's life. Hope we can churn out some results until the team grow together and performances (hopefully) improve.

The numpty in the stand completeley ruined our momentum with their idiotic flare throwing act.....gave them a chance to regroup when we add them on the ropes after going 2-2!!

Well, that's disappointing. And so the theme goes on, can't defend for toffee, especially from 85 minutes onwards. Maybe O'Connell would have made a difference or is he not really injured and on his way out? Bet the new goalie plays on Tuesday and Broadbent starts ahead of Morley.

That's a fair point
I hope he's identified and banned for life. That's not being a supporter
Think there’s a little bit of an overreaction to what was a perfectly ok opening day at 2-2 with a side that has barely played together. Defensively poor and need Graham starting centrally on Tuesday but it looks like we are suffering with injuries already and Done may have to play left back again.
We were quite direct going forward and got balls into the box and were probably unlucky not to score more - their keeper played well. Odoh’s injury disrupted us as he carried the ball up the pitch, when he improves his end product and looks to go on the outside more we will have a decent player. Bringing on Cashman was Stockdale’s main error as Done has done well in pre season and would have been disappointed to not been used. Beesley and Newby did quite well and Grant’s quality shows through but he’ll need to learn when to use it at this level.
Finally, the competition between McNulty and McArdle to match the latter’s display at Stockport in 2006 was actually reasonably entertaining at times.
Lynch is a perfectly capable ‘keeper at this level. Criticism of him tends to be more about what he doesn’t do than the things he does. That said, I think Coleman will end up as our first choice.

I think if O’Connell plays that game we win it. McNulty and Taylor were a terrible partnership. Dooley could’ve won it for us but his shot was as poor as his performance.
Odoh was really bright, and Beesley impressed. Overall I’m not too worried. We played well in parts and with so many players who’ve only just set eyes on each other for the first time it’s going to take a while to gel.
Lastly, I’m with rkeershaw and D_Alien. How moronic can the flare throwers be? What a great idea to do something to delay the game 5 minutes just after we’ve scored and were in the ascendancy. And, as if that wasn’t bad enough, they gave one poor girl an asthma attack.
