Brexit is working on 18:57 - Sep 30 by shingle | The NHS is in a mess and was in a mess before the Pandemic, more immigrants than ever are illegally coming into the country than ever, far more than the pre Brexit days, we can not get enough drivers all the promises pre Brexit are not bearing fruitation etc and you go on about the GDP going up a few percent and you properly got that from something Boris and the lads orchestrated to get put out there. The NHS was in a mess long before Brexit. Why are more immigrants coming here now? Do they think we are a better proposition now we've left the EU? Lorry drivers, if we were still in the EU there would still be a shortage and if we enticed as many as we needed there'd be an even greater shortage across Europe. Of course GDP going up is good, there are record numbers of jobs advertised. On the flip side, prices are rising across the board, gas prices by over 30%, food and petrol rising too. The increase in wages isn't keeping pace with the price rises. The brexit promises, they are politicians words, why would people believe them? It was down to people to look into it and decide for themselves, not believe Bojo, a proven liar. Maybe if Cameron and Osborne hadn't been pushing remain lies and scaremongering things would have been different. People are stil putting everything that's happening down to brexit, they can not see that the Pandemic is a major influence too and probably a bigger influence than Brexit. PS, Felix, I take offence at your NHS jibe, my wife isn't medical and works from home 3 days a week, she's not hiding. In fact she's been ill for the last 2 weeks and on antibiotics but she carried on working even though the office told her not to go in and get a PCR test, she carried on at her computer.

Think your remarks are to the wrong person, you are replying to the wrong person. I think all our four NHS have done their best and tye successful vaccine rollout is due to their dedication.

Brexit is working on 22:01 - Oct 11 by AndyCole | The FTSE 100 is back up on its upward trajectory, posting a Higher Low, and also taking out the late Sept Lower High as we speak........ Now looking to take out the mid-Aug All Time High...... Why on earth some folk on here don't focus on this stuff, The Best barometer of post-Brexit health speaks volumes. . . |
. The FTSE100 did indeed take out those mid August Highs, as predicted. Folk either need to pay attention for the greater good, or at least make a shilling or two in the process. The best barometer keeps on giving. There's none so blind (on here, you know who you are) as those will not see. . .

Meanwhile uproar in Poland as Poland rejects EU laws says its laws takes precedent. Ursula threatens sanctions, fines, withdrawal of funds. Poland says it will not be blackmailed. Other member states demanding punishments. The unelected bureaucrats in Brussels can see their expenses and gold plated fat pensions crumbling. Meanwhile announced today, Wales to get 100s of millions in extra funding from Westminster far more than the EU ever returned in regional development funds. Another brexit dividend.

It is the water companies that are dumping sewage in rivers . Usually because of heavy rain and often because people insist on putting wet wipes , cooking fat etc down the sewers. Do try to get your facts right. Raw sewage was dumped into Welsh rivers 100,000 times last year 2020 while we're still in the EU. Berlin Paris and many other EU cities also discharge raw sewage into their rivers. Is this because of or in spite of brexit? I am sure we are all happy to pay extra sewage charges to make sure it is stored and treated properly. This is nothing to do with Brexit has been happening for years all because people misuse sewers and don't want to pay to.get all sewage treated properly. [Post edited 24 Oct 2021 23:57]

Try reading the newspapers. £700 million extra announced in March budget and even more will be announced in Wednesday's budget if leaks to newspapers are confirmed. [Post edited 25 Oct 2021 9:15]

What an odd answer. In your post you said 'Meanwhile announced today, Wales to get 100s of millions in extra funding from Westminster far more than the EU ever returned in regional development funds. Another brexit dividend'. You posted this on the 23rd of October. Then when I ask what extra money you suggest I read the newspapers and tell me about £700 million announced in March. So where is the 100's of millions 'announced today (23/10)' according to what you said ?

And another strange post from you. This is NOT a 'huge jobs boost for Swansea and Wales'. What it is is an idea, a proposal, a newspaper headline. It is NOT a jobs boost. If you nip down to Swansea and check out the bay you'll see that the previous versions of this plan never happened. So they never provided a 'huge jobs boost for Swansea and Wales' to quote you. Wht not wait and see what actually happens before talking about it.

You and Felix are diametrically opposed when it comes to Brexit and you're as bad as each other seeking to turn things to suit your agenda, but you are right with this. While our infrastructure isn't good enough, the lack of chemicals is a major issue and is well documented.

I just googled “Quentin Budworth” and apparently he’s a hurdy-gurdy player. I’m not sure how this translates into an expertise in the depuration of water or the complexities of the chemicals supply chain. I’m sure he’s brilliant on the hurdy-gurdy though. [Post edited 26 Oct 2021 17:12]

On the news today they said this "dumping" is only done when very heavy rain threatens to flood the system and cause trouble. They said nothing about chemicals, it's all about there being too much water in the system. https://theconversation.com/why-are-water-companies-dumping-raw-sewage-in-britai And this is an extract from that link, Water companies are allowed to release untreated waste water in rare circumstances when the system becomes overwhelmed, preventing damage to equipment and properties. This is often due to very heavy rainfall, blockages and unexpected equipment failures. Increasing sewage and rainwater flows mean these events are likely to become more frequent. The amount of sewage companies are permitted to release is set by the regulators, but when companies fail to manage increased flows they may exceed the permits and be penalised with fines. If they try to hide or under-report these releases, the penalties are significantly larger. But the damage to the environment is often already done. So there you have it, it's been a regular thing, an ongoing action that happens whenever there's too much water in the system and not to do with Brexit or Chemical shortages.

That's not the case, they can increase the amount dumped during adverse weather however around the 7th of September the Government eased the rules allowing Water companies to dump more untreated sewerage. Check out the newspaper articles around that date.

Things change, https://news.sky.com/story/environment-bill-government-u-turn-over-water-firms-d The Lords rejected the intial plans and put in an amendment, the MP's voted against it but public opinion seems to have forced a rethink.
