Fair enough. Me & the missus have 4 cars between us and at the moment we're only going shopping twice a week so we try to rotate them to give them all a bit of a run as the nearest supermarkets to us are 8-9 miles away.
Personally i would say, taking your car for a spin to keep it running smooth is ok once a week, just use a bit of common sense in it, I have only recently advised a relative to do so, travelled on their own, and just a quick 30 minute spin, they have to go back to work in a week or so, so it's either that or wait for the breakdown van, either flat battery or brakes seized up.
I think doing this, to an extent you are slightly breaking the rules, but you are not endangering anyone, at the moment there is way more blatant breaking of the rules.
If someone is genuinely trying to help towards this fkn cause, I'll cut them slack mate, but they have to have good reason to do what they do.
You dont need to drive to charge you battery up. Just switch the engine on and stay in the drive save fuel.
Disagree, in a positive way mate. My '09 car needs to move, turning the engine over ain't enough. It needs to move, not saying 30 minute drive, but move it.

Surely it takes more than a few weeks for brakes to seize up and battery to go flat.
How do you manage when you go on holidays for fortnight and leave car at the airport
Can’t believe that this is actually a debate. Star the car up on the driveway if people are worried...use the accelerator to take the revs up a bit if idling isn’t enough.
If your battery is running flat after 3 or 4 days then it’s time to get it changed.
Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Exactly. Joy riding isn't deemed necessary

Haha! No, not really, one is a van actually, for work, but not at the moment obviously, hasn't been used for work since 12th March and one of the cars was going to be sold in January after I'd bought a replacement in December until my son in law smashed his BMW into the back of a lorry on the M5 in January so I lent it to him so he could get to work and I've only had it back for about 3 weeks and can't do anything about selling it now so here it sits. Tax runs out end of April so will SORN it then and then it will have to just idle on the drive once a week to keep the battery charged until it can be sold. Hope that makes you feel happier and a little less spiteful. Apology accepted.

See answer above to DJackâ˜ï¸
For the amount of conservative voters on here I find it strange that their first reaction is to assume you’re a millionaire then have a jealous dig. Strange behaviour from those whom apparently “encourage social movement and progress”. Unless it just theirs of course
P.S. Could you lend me a grand?

POSTER OF THE YEAR 2013.
PROUD RECIPIENT OF THE SECOND PLANET SWANS LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD.
I did the weekly shop at 7am today. Nightmare. One hour queue to get in to Tesco. Two hours to get around the store. But at least I got food.
Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Any spite that you think you saw/read is a product of your mind and says more about you than me. Have a nice day.
