Declan John on 11:31 - Aug 15 by Jacket | Why would you focus on the 26 appearances at Rangers in 17/18 when you can focus on the 9 appearances for Barnsley in 14/15 and his 6 appearances for Chesterfield in 15/16. The ones in the distant past are clearly more relevant than the season before last! |
Shows a pattern but hey ho. Rangers stint was in and out of the side and they got rid. Maybe the light has finally come on.
Declan John on 12:18 - Aug 15 with 950 views | Jacket | Check again - he was in and out of the team in the first few months and virtually ever-present in the latter stages of the season. They changed manager, who brought in a new first choice left back. They wanted him to remain as back-up, he wanted more game time, he failed to find that but decided he may as well move home to south Wales and be back-up at Swansea and try and force his way into the first team. That's my understanding of what went on at least. [Post edited 15 Aug 2019 12:19]

I'd be amazed if Huw saw something special in him, probably more the case was a cheap option for backup. If he goes on to do well for you, then good on him and you - still think you're capable of attracting better. |
You said you didn't know why we signed him & then answered your own question - he was signed as a cheap backup! Cooper may well get more out of him, we'll see. Definitely better attacking than defending but a perfectly good squad player

The problem with Joh, Roberts and Bidwell is none are particularly good .... defending.

Typical modern full backs in that case

| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

And not a lot better. I'm happy with him.
