Pins in new shirts. There used to be about 10 of the little buggers. You could never be entirely sure you’d found all of them.

Anyone remember those sweets called school chalks ? Liquorice covered in white powder that looked exactly like, well, school chalk. I wonder if you can still get 'em ?

Eating bones. Years ago everyone gave their dogs bones but in the last 20/30 years it’s reckoned not to be a good idea. Bones, especially chicken bones can splinter and cause all sorts of internal injuries.
P.S. much fewer proper Butchers shops about, old fashioned ones that always had bones for your dog.

That's true of cooked bones...

We feed our dogs a raw diet - mainly 'human grade' chicken from the supermarket, bones and all plus a bit of 'green' tripe. Also other bones from local butcher and/or supermarket.

They really enjoy ripping apart half a chicken, it's better for them, great for their teeth too.

No white poos - so must be the cooking process that does that...

Something else rarely seen these days are winkles. The pins mentioned by the OP would come in handy for these. Now that the winkle stall outside the Beehive in Brentford has sadly gone, I don't know anywhere in West London where winkles, whelks etc can be found.
