E20 - let's use your car analogy.

Someone offers you £50,000 for your 10 year old BMW 520d which you use to get back and forth to work. It's an ok car, does the job, could be better but also could be worse. That offer is vastly over-priced, so you take it.

You go and buy a 5 year old Ford Mondeo with some of the money. First day it doesn't start. Second day it breaks down on the way to work. Third day it breaks down again, and so on. Eventually, you get sacked from your high-paying job....the job you love so much.....for being late every morning.

The decision to sell the car wasn't a wrong one. The decision not to spend all (or most of) the £50k on a new, better and more reliable car most certainly was.

It's that simple.

But you have just agreed with everything I said. Selling the car was not the mistake, failing to adequately buy another was. They are separate decisions, heightened by the fact we can add the initial car was going to break down and be sent to the scrappys within a few years / heightened further by the fact that at the time of sale if refused to start (quite literally).

Gylfi was worth £45 million, Leicester was said to have offered £40 odd million, Everton was said to have paid £45 million, Swansea was said to have wanted £50 million.
No question Gylfi is a bona fide £45 million player.

Nope. If he was put on the market now, considering the only buyer interested at that price would be the one selling. There is no way they would get £45m for him.

Not a £45m player in a month of Sundays - we did extremely well.

Now Lisa is the latest to be abused by this deeply venal and dangerous hypocrite of a man . A working class labour man swanning around in a car made for the upper middle classes ...Tory boys ,if you like . Really ,as soon as his fat fingers hit his keyboard ,filth, lies, abuse will follow.

A man ,who rates his fandom ? In reality, the reason why so many are put off following the Swans and posting on here .

Personally, I don't give a shite who rates me as a man or fan as I view most people with suspicion

Angry, you betcha. When my team ,my home city team is being disembowelled I have to say what others think is as if nothing to me . I'm pretty upset, physically, ,my missus is angry Im upset and ....shock upon shock...I reckon she d punch Jenkins in the mouth if she cornered this snake

The sale... Yeah I was in favour .. Res was right ,I was wrong .so what.. To his credit I'm not sure Chris is gloating over being vindicated . I ll be looking out for him at Anfield to verify anyway and compare notes

Meanwhile, our club is dying on the vine

When i was 16 i did work in Tesco for a couple of months. I have also worked on a building site. Both of those experiences pushed me to study, to network with the right people and try things out and never give up. The rest is my history :) And, i love it!

You do not have a clue about me.

Shaky and Lisa talk sense and ask pertinent questions. You don't ask questions and verrrrrrrrrry occasionally speak a little sense. Credit where its due and all that.

Question, Are those figures right about your employers?

You don't need to repeat, i know you like to but there really is no need.

As for separating decisions, well done. Some are some are not but it seems you don't know the difference. Over you head? Ah sorry, you wouldn't know, as its over you head. i suggest you leave that to those that know how to make one.

You clearly believe the decision was right. Its ok, it really is. Mine is, it wasn't. We've both tried to explain our reasons. I am using whats happened since as a basis for demonstrating it was a bad decision. You are using ... a textbook?

Well you keep on telling yourself this story then.

Only an idiot judges a decision by an outcome that is not pre determined. I.e we could be in a far worse position had he stayed. We got worse every year he was here, the trend suggests that would continue - hence why he wanted out no doubt.

As you have been told, a decisions worth is based on it's value not some pie in the sky aftermath in a parallel universe. Nobody has any idea what we would be like if he stayed, the signs most certainly were not good.

And yes absolutely my figures are correct (plus haven't looked at a textbook for nigh on 20 years, I am stating the obvious reality).

A £45 million player all day long, not only was one team said to have paid it but they had to beat off another team apparently offering a similar amount.

The player is class, a creative goalscoring midfielder who covers lots of ground.

Continually being banned by Planet Swans for Porthcawl and then being reinstated.

Judging from your grasp of this you are either "tall tale Tim" or got extremely extremely lucky and should be counting your lucky stars that your lack of business acumen and understanding of business scenario did not catch up to you.

Gylfi scored a screamer against Soton the other week as well and he scored a halfway line screamer in Europe where the commentator said something along the lines of 'that is what you get for £45 million'.

Grand old team forum has a thread on him, far more positive than negative.

With the start to the season they had, he was the poster boy representing the failure.

With a quality manager now in place, his performances have improved and most are glowing in his praise.

Why the fu ck many on here post I don't know, utterly clueless.

Someone comes up with an agenda both positive and negative in relation to him and become obsessed by him.

Bottom line is he has 3 goals this season and I'd put money on him getting to 10.

He has the x factor the ability to change a game.

He has played a huge part in Iceland, yes Iceland qualifying for the world cup!

He played a huge part to play in saving us down to that x factor which we haven't replaced.

I couldn't give a toss if he doesn't score again this season or for the rest of his life, although I would like to see Iceland doing well.

Bottom line though let's be truthful about it all and stay away from bull sh it agendas.

I think Gylfi has a personal tally of 7 goals this season (all open play I think), 3 for Everton in the Prem and 1 in Europe and 3 for Iceland to get them to the World Cup.

I actually fail to see the point of whether Gylfi was worth £45m or 45p. He wanted to go, and with him in our team last season we were almost relegated, he had to be sold at that price in order for us to take a new direction. Unfortunately, we fvcked that up big time. Anyone else who thinks otherwise is (to coin a simple phrase) crying over spilt milk.
