Lee Clark FIRED. Bucketti HIRED. bury PROMOTION PUSH back on track. 21:17 - Oct 29 with 35662 viewsRAFCBLUE

Now, I'm not keen on bury but I have got to say I've some sympathy for Lee Clark.

He comes in after Chairman Day fires Flitcroft and then goes on a recruitment spree of what I'll define as journeymen professionals supplemented by a gaming of the loan system.

Now Clark has his faults but seems to have copped for Chairman Day arranging signings that he would not have wanted.

I personally hope he wins at Woking next week and stays for a few more league games; the financial papering over the cracks is a timebomb that will explode eventually.

He has a massive constructive dismissal claim coming if Day does decide to pull the trigger.

He hasn't been there long enough to sue for constructive dismissal surely, and he would have to quit to claim that, as soon as Day did something to make his stay untenable

Not an expert, but I think you have to be somewhere 2 years to claim unfair dismissal yet constructive dismissal (due to employer's conduct) can be at any time.

If it's a case of not having control over signings, it's a non-starter, there'll almost certainly be something in the T&Cs of his contract about that

See Koeman at Everton, in similar circumstances

Constructive dismissal can be claimed where an employer makes it impossible for an employee to continue, the employee has to quit at the moment this happens. It is v difficult to prove, and a very low percentage of claims at an employment tribunal are successful.

The employee is making it difficult for himself to continue in the job according to some which is a ludicrous assertion. IMHO, and hopefully M'Lud's, Mr Clark is doing a fantastic job and should remain in post in law until the ultimate demise of the business which employs him.

He's gone according to Sky.

Watch them all congratulate Day now. Whoever the new man is, not one point will matter.

You can get 10/3 on a Woking win.

11/4 the draw.

Lump on, Day can see the future!

Love the line "it was decided"

Sounds like Lee didn't agree and will be taking them for a few quid via a legal process.

Carlo Ancelotti is available I'm sure he's relish the challenge.

There's a raft of out of work managers available but frmse is the man for the job.

<<"“We invested the James Vaughan money (£900,000) back into the squad in the summer and should do doing much better than we currently are.">>

So they thought that despite their current financial situation is was appropriate to invest that transfer income on the squad. That three managers running have collected players at such an alarming rate is not necessarily all down to them, such a policy has to be agreed.

Maybe that will be considered when everyone is handing out compliments for taking action against an admittedly poor manager.

Very frightening!

Not the fact they have spent £900k but what they have spent it on!

Absolutely gutted about this.

I really really really wanted them to keep hold of him until Christmas in the hope he would already have them with one foot in league two before he was sacked. To be fair he has given it a good go and hopefully his successor will complete the job and get them relegated in time to open the new stadium in league two.

Maybe Day should just appoint himself manager and save a wage as it seems he is playing his own game of football manager anyway.

That's the first Chairman Day interview I've heard, where his voice betrays the words being used.

The bit at the end where he stumbles to say "Bear with us." When he means "Stick with us" is telling.

Credit to the interviewer for asking some proper questions, particularly on finances.

The cracks are appearing - a deferred consideration transfer fee for Harry Bunn based on money they are due to receive on what is I assume James Vaughn.

Hand to mouth.

Was only a matter of time, but came sooner than I predicted. A little stat for you... Lee Clark is only the second Bury manager to have a loss percentage of over 50%. That’ll look grand on his CV.

Clark must have made some money out of being sacked though.
Pay-outs at Huddersfield, Birmingham, Blackpool and now presumably from Bury.
Mind you, the queue of creditors at Gigg must resemble that famous Tory 1979 election poster by now.
I heard a story that Flicker didn't get a lump sum when he left but rather they continued to pay his salary every month to aid their cash flow.
