Actually won't be home for another 15 mins but..

First half we were excellent, didn't get a clear look at the incident, to me it looked like he fell on to the ball, their player took 2 mins to leave the pitch so maybe that put Chery off, it was miles wide and he scuffed it but we didn't let our heads drop, we were at them from the start like we did against Leeds all that time ago. Hall played as a CDM next to Cousins and it looked good, Cherys ball for Sebs goal was perfect, Polter did well to hold off the defender and slot home. Washingtons goal was good and you could tell it meant a lot to him.
Robinsons latest injury meant we had to change formation.

Second half, it looked like we went back to 442. Sandro done ok, touches of class then moments of madness. Luongo came off and Shodipo came on, he started on the left wing and then changed to right and kept it simple, just ran down the wings trying to box it.

Norwich had a spell where they rocked the cross bar and ended up getting a goal, the last few mins were a bit nervy. Sylla came on for Polter but didn't do much.

A improved performance and the atmosphere was great. Actually enjoyed a home game for the first time in ages.

My MOTM is CW. Didn't stop

I bet they were fairly surprised to get that sort of response. They'll be embellishing that story as we speak: ' And he said we should support the team but, like, we said, get this, yeah? Well you can just jog on, right, and then he flicks us the v's and then, like, we just all piled in and gave him a fcuking kicking and it was only coz the filth used a police horse to escort us back to our seats that the whole place didn't get torched. And he sent us an apology. With fcuking flowers. What a sigh'.

Probably not far off mate. They're like a couple of Harry Enfield characters. It's the same week in, week out. the only the consolation is that they stand out like the prize tw@ts they are in a section of really good supporters of all types in block EL

Can't understand this. Our best period of play was with Sandro on the pitch and improved greatly on the final ten minutes of the first half. When Luongo went off, that's when we started losing shape.

I was in the West Paddock yesterday and from where I was sitting, Sandro didn't get subbed on for Robinson until the second half, so he contributed most to the last ten minutes of the first half (which was the best spell of attacking football in the game) by sitting on the bench. He also had three attempts to get on as a sub because 1. he hadn't given his name to the fourth official. 2. he then went on the pitch without his studs being checked. 3. he might have done better to stay off, as I noticed that he does not close a man down, does not track back as quickly as others, and hit too many cross field Hollywood passes. We lost shape with every substitution that Olly had to make, to the extent that in the last ten minutes, there was no midfield which is where Naaarch built their attacks up.

Having said that, great to be there yesterday, much more like the good old days, but why wasn't it a sellout with Ollie and Birch coming back.

I didn't spot him on the pitch till the second half either :)

From my seat in the R block it didn't look like Sandro did too much, plenty of running around with his arms out like a plane though.

I thought when we missed the penalty that it would be one of those days, but the crowds strong support remained and the rest is history! I was massively impressed with Lynch, not the finished article but if he continues in this form he will be a real asset to the team.

I thought Shodipo showed more signs of real promise and talent but seemed to float around a little too much and did have a negative impact on the side, I thought. But that is to be expected while the new management takes root. EDIT TO CLARIFY - as it may be deemed to be having a dig at Shopido - I thought he was just deployed poorly, not his fault. The team won't just click into Ollie's gear overnight.

A really promising start for Ollie and the team.

Very dissapointing to hear some of the chants about JFH though, no need to be spiteful barstards.

I agree with you

Don't think Cousins is a bad payer but he gave possession away time and time again. Looked a little low on confidence.

I thought Cousins best game for us was away to Forest. He was excellent.

We've got a couple of prize bellends in East Paddock who were slating Cousins ('Ollie get 'im outta this club FFS' etc etc)
Karl Henry, sat behind the the duggout with the other Rangers squad, replied to him - 'why don't you just support the club and our players instead'. Well played Henry!

Henry's best performance so far this season?

Seriously, while I very much don't want Henry in the side, I think he's a decent enough bloke. Good for him in this case.

Mine was the intention of criticising Shodipo, I actually wanted him to come on. Just with hindsight that substitution didn't work

This is how I saw it too. Shodipo didn't play awfully, and did really well to stop a Norwich counter at 2-1, but it was just the wrong substitution and the slight change in formation really allowed Norwich back in the match.

The central midfield was wide open in the last 20, and we really made hard work of it. I understand Luongo missed the last game through injury and may not have been fit enough to last the game, but Borysiuk surely was the logical replacement?

I too wanted to see Shodipo, his pace did help stretch Norwich when they were pushing forward. But I would've taken off Washington after he'd done so much running.

But overall there were a lot of positives. Lynch, Robinson, Polter, Washington especially. And great to see a full and supportive Loftus Road.

Does the lad no good to tell him he's been great, when he's not, you learn from mistakes. Their goal came from his poor clearence / pass straight back to them and throughout he was not working hard enough to get back into team shape on turnover of possession often giving them 2 on 1 against Perch.

Really enjoyed the game but think we lack a leader on the pitch. Ned is not and actually don't think he should be a regular anyway - a disaster always waiting to happen. Certainly believe a Derry or Palmer would have distracted Cherry from the tension surrounding the penalty and would definitely have steadied the ship once Norwich pulled the goal back.

On Shodipo, it is perfectly OK to criticise any player on here. That is to the same as giving them pelters on the pitch. Of course you can cross a line even on here, where some players become so vilified that it then transfers over to the crowd.

In Shodipo's case, he's young and raw. We shouldn't expect him to be the finished article. So constructive criticism, pointing out where he is going wrong (e.g, in this case going all out for attack and not being aware of defensive duties) is actually good - so long as it doesn't change to "he's useless, don't know why we bought him, shouldn't be in the side, get rid" and so on.

Or he was perhaps told by Ollie to go all out attack? give the kid a break. One week he is the wunderkid next week he's shite and doesn't work hard enough. He is
Earning his game, this time last year few had even heard of the lead and now everyone's an expert on his game. We do love to build them up and knock them down on LFW. He has bags of potential and is clear,y highly rated by the club who are trying to ease him into the team.

Never knowingly understood

One of the things that me about Sodipo in previous games was his tracking back. I guess Ollie said get in there and go at them. Didn't quite work but with so many positives who cares ?

Strong and stable my arse.

It's a game of opinions I guess. I'm with AgedR - thought Sandro was pony and we were a different team with Luongo off and him on. Sat deep and allowed them to come at us which as we all know only too well, we can't do....but it all came good in the end! Great, great result. Ollie's off to a flyer.

I thought Shodipo did quite well tracking back and made one great run back and saving tackle with about 5 mins to go.

Overall I loved it yesterday, was great to go to a game where we attacked from minute one and tried to win the game. One fella on the way out was slating Holloway for switching to 4-4-2 in the last 20 minutes but really if you come away from the ground yesterday moaning then I'm not sure why you go to football.

The last 10 minutes were nervous but really Norwich created next to nothing in that spell, it was only the panic that we might gift them something that but that will be a lesson for Holloway and he got to see something he can improve on.

I thought Lynch was man of the match, he had an excellent game but couldn't fault any of the players really, they all looked so much better than they have in recent weeks
