So then... 22:40 - Jan 13 with 5617 viewsPhil_S

We will naturally appeal the red card and there is little doubt we will win that appeal

But what retrospective action will be taken against Yann M'Vila who blatantly cheated to get the referee to make that decision. Surely that has to be worthy of a ban

You still think we'll stay up Phil?

Why? There was contact as he kicked Naughton with his follow through. Enough justification to go down in the modern game.

Just because it wasn't a foul doesn't mean M'Vila did anything criminal.

Totally agree Phil, the guy conned the ref, surely bringing the game into disrepute, the ref was poor anyway and he was sending Naughton off immediately after the incident he couldn't get his card out quick enough.

Life is an adventure or nothing at all.

Agreed, the only criminals out there were the officials, they're the 1's who should be banned.

Without a doubt ,but it won't happen ,I'm gutted that it ruined the game and had total confidence we'd have done them 11v 11

Didn't say he did anything criminal

But he cheated and conned the referee and football should stamp down on that and rapidly especially when it is as clear cut as this one

M'Vila kicked the bottom of Naughtons foot if anything, he conned the ref by claiming he had been caught on the shin when he quite clearly hadn't. He cheated, he should receive an appropriate punishment.

He didn't cheat. He just overreacted to contact like every professional footballer in the world does. The red card isn't on him.

You could see the shock on the players faces the way the ref ran over, Naughton knew he was going.

The actions of the ref and linesman were disgraceful, posibly helping to put us down, they should never take anothe Prem game again. the linesmans actions for the late offside were laughable, God knows what he was doing for that , probably the same thing happened on the goal and he realised he co**ed up!

Not in the modern game it isn't. It's part and parcel. Our players do it all the time, too.

They should retrospectively ban and fine cheats. It's spoiling the game. Utterly disgraceful.

Just watched the highlights, phucking shocking officiating. Well played the Swans though they had a right go despite being royally shafted.

OK then overeating to get a player sent off is not cheating.

If you want to believe that it was just part of the game that we had to spend the best part of an hour a man light then you carry on

For me he cheated, knew he had cheated (the smile on his face suggested that much) and he should face retrospective action

You just accept it

Bottom line, we could have been 2 or 3 down before we got the pen. We started badly and this is indicative of where we are at the moment, top to bottom of this club...really bad! Everything else is just an excuse.

Actually, in the linesman so defence on the offside he did give, he did the right thing. The player through on goal was only deemed to be offside when he touched the ball, hence the delay in raising the flag. Not seen any replays only live at the game but I think if the other player coming through had scored it would have stood because he was on side.

Completely agree on replays - too many massive decisions being made wrong (in almost every game) and yet there seems no need to use the obvious technology available
