Taylor 16:05 - Dec 23 with 10890 viewsdeanscfc

Curtis just said that he'd been our player of the year so far and this is why Tabanou hadn't been given any time at all. I know there's not a lot to choose from right now but I nearly spat my coffee over the PC. Surely I'm not the only one who thinks we need more quality...pace, crossing ability etc at left back??

This obsession with Taylor is becoming embarrassing, bordering psychotic.

Have to be fair to him he has overlapped numerous times this season with only 1 option to hit in the box, no wonder he pauses to wait for supporting midfielders who if tracked become unavailable

Think its more of a tactics issue as Beckham aside the percentages suggest he is unlikely to hit a stationary Gomis

It's not so much as hitting a stationary Gomis
He can't lob it to Gomis as everyone in the ground knows the Kermit is stood in an offside position.

Even Beckhams pinpoint crosses couldn't find Bafe onside

Really can't understand the slagging Tayls gets.
Yes we all know he's not the Worlds best attacking fullback, but he puts his all in week in week out.
Unlike some in defence who went missing for the last few weeks of GMs reign.
But we can't say a bad word about a captain of Wales can we?

If you wake up breathing, thats a good start to your day and you'll make many thousands of people envious.

Not knocking his commitment, he's a good professional. But I'm saying that we do need better. 1 assist in 5 seasons was a stat I didn't know about but that says it all.

I think there is definitely a bias to the Welsh guys. Case in point, I remember Taylor saying a few seasons back about how he wanted to leave because Davies was keeping him out of the side - nobody says much or probably even remembers. Tabanou says how unhappy he is at being bought and not even getting a game and people kick off.

Taylor is average ,dreadfully average , saying that the whole squad has been this season .

We were spoilt with Ben , who suited us with Laudrup's all out attack & Taylor couldn't get a sniff of a game .

He then suited Monks sousa's approach to tactics .

He just defends you won't get much more out of him .

Average?
Nothing wrong with that in a below average Premier side.
That's why he's probably up for player of the year

It's just the internet, init.

Yeah, no one ever gave Jazz any stick did they?

We have way bigger problems than our left back not scoring at the moment.

This. Taylor is having an OK season & is an OK left back & that's about it for me - it's not his fault that he's being selected or his fault that he is an OK left back or his fault that we are 17th - lots of teams have 'water carriers' he's one of ours.

I fully agree that Tanbanou should have been tried but clearly Monks saw something that told him otherwise & that's not Taylor's fault either.

Far better & more capable players have had poorer/more inconsistent first half's of the season that Taylor - Ash, Gomis, Shelves, Ayew, Siggy, Ki & Montero to name but 7! Yet we seem fixated on 'blaming' Tayls - beats the hell out of me???

He is a scapegoat. If someone has a mare, they get the abuse. If everyone plays ok and we still don't win, it's Taylor's fault.

He is lucky he has had Gomis and latterly Shelvey to share some of the burden this season.

It really is pathetic amongst our fan base, that there has to be a scapegoat, Dean is not happy posting it once, he feels the need to rehash it, sad

You give it out, you take it back it`s all part of the game

Did you lift that from one of my posts from a few days ago or are we just thinking along the same lines?
