Swansea City v York CIty - Official Match Thread on 20:39 - Aug 25 by AnotherJohn | In bed with 'flu-like symptoms listening to Radio Wales. It seems that the second goal is proving hard again. Interesting to see that Exeter City have put three past a Sunderland side that isn't too different from the one we played. [Post edited 25 Aug 2015 20:41]

Maybe Sunderland thought they could outplay Exeter so that became their priority. They knew they couldn't outplay us so their priority was to kick the shit out of us. If they'd tried to take us on at football we'd have stuffed them and they knew it so there was no way they were even going to try. Even then we came close to scoring 3 or 4.

It's in line with most of the other League Cup attendances. More than Wolves & Birmingham, almost double Fulham's,. Even Luton only got 6K to watch a Premier League team, albeit against Stoke.

Sounds like a good run out though for our scratch second team. For those who were there, who of our boys impressed you the most?

A special raspberry award must go to Talk Sport for not even bothering to send a reporter to our match, and then reading our half-time score as 1-1. At least I had a pleasant surprise when I got home and checked out the real scores!

I'm curious of those that saw the match if the york GK was doing the job it sounded like on the audio or if our boys just weren't clinical enough.

I thought Grimes was a bit sloppy, Eder decent and the keeper did well for them, Norfeldt also made 2-3 decent saves. Enjoyed wat hing Eder tonight, will be good games for him these cup ties.

Bit of both, they had a couple of decent players. It looked like the keeper pulled off a good save of Aeider in first half but you do think that Gomis or one of our first team players would have buried it. Matt Grimes needs to pull his socks a pretty casual attitude from him should have scored in a virtually open goal situation and was sloppy in his distribution. Tabenau showed flashes but also looked a bit lost at times, you can see he has talent but defending was a bit lax at times. I liked the York left back he skinned Dyer a few times and was a strong boy.

Good evaluation, regards Eder he looks wide of the mark to me, early days I know but he doesn't look the quality we require up front at all. A standard victory maybe, York were tidy at times and could have taken us closer to the wire had they taken an early chance. Decent turn out, not sure what has been said on here about the attendance is spoken with any degree of thought, over ten thousand is fine. Some people have short memories. If they can remember any of our games before 2011 that is. Looking forward to the draw now. Cardiff City Ha Ha Ha.

Really? I liked the look of Eder a lot. Good touch and awareness about him. Obviously the oppo needs to be taken into account but he looks a quantum leap ahead of most other striker cover we've had since promotion.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

Swansea City v York CIty - Official Match Thread on 22:26 - Aug 25 with 2811 views | Joe_bradshaw | Elder clearly has talent and should have scored a couple. Grimes was poor at times and good at times. I like Tabanou, I think he's the closest to a first team start. Marvin was his usual self - came on and looked like a pub player for ten minutes then scored a cracker.

He needs to be more selfish with ball when in the penalty area. Three times tonight he passed when a striker would usually keep it for himself. I like strikers to be mean and selfish. In effect he passed away the ball to players supposedly in better positions and the chances were wasted.

He's good when he can run in a straight line. Ask for zigzags or curves and he's f*cked.

That I will agree with, I just think he could have slotted one of his chances away considering the opposition and nature of the opportunities he had.
