Danny Ings is the main injury doubt as Sants start the new season with a trip to Crystal Palace on Saturday, find out how he is getting on and other updates on the squad here.
Danny Ings has been reported as having suffered a clash of heads with Kieran Trippier in England training earlier this week, but early indications show that he has not suffered a concussion and will be fit to feature for the Three Lions once again on Tuesday night.
With Phil Foden and Mason Greenwood having been sent home, our player of the season will be hopeful of starting this evening against Denmark and more to the point being ready to carry on where he left off against Palace on Saturday.
Another player on the injury list if Guido Carrillo who has still yet to find himself a club for the forthcoming season, either permanent or on loan, he has had a hamstring injury, but is reported as being fit, however it is highly unlikely he will feature in the squad for Saturday.
Another man who has been out a long time is Sam McQueen .who suffered a serious cruciate knee ligament rupture two years ago in October 2018 while on loan at Middlesbrough and has not been played since.
The 25-year-old left sided player has spent nearly two years on the injury list and has now entered the last year on his current deal at St. Mary's.
There is no sign of a return for McQueen and there has to be question marks over his career given the time he has now been out of the game.
