Genuinely think someone needs to stage an intervention with her, she's completely batsh*t and seems deluded in her thinking that any of us want her insane ideas that crashed the economy and cost us all a fortune.

Guide Dog is my favourite boozer in southampton, it's basically someone's living room that serves exceptionally good beer, kept by people who know how to look after beer properly and full of people who like good beer.

It's no frills, no fuss, doesn't do TV's, and doesn't do food most of the time, exactly how a boozer should be really.

My issue isn't volume it's quality.

I don't think I can ever remember a time where our song sheet has been so embarrassing, we literally have two songs about players c*cks and people are more likely to sing things like "how sh*t must you be" or "lets pretend we scored a goal" so they can laugh like kids who've just discovered laughing gas, than support the team.

Add to that the songs about the skates every five minutes - i swear we sing about pompey more than they do - and it just sucks all the enjoyment out of it.

That's the main reason i want to move to be honest, plus I actually want to watch the game (crazy i know)

In the ground and directly outside not a huge amount, aside from the Itchen North and Northam chucking a few things at away fans inside the ground it's mostly posturing.

Directly outside - and aside from games against the skates - it's only been the odd bit of handbags on britannia road by the buses, and you'd have to go back to the cup game against Wolves in the mid 2000's for any real trouble close to the ground.

But that said away from st mary's we had a very active element up until probably this season, and also in league one/championship days we did too.

That stuff is mainly away from the police camera's though so you wouldn't see much of it in the ground itself.

I started in the Northam when we moved from the Dell, I was Archers block five at the Dell and most around me agreed the Northam was the obvious choice to move to.

I gave up on the Northam a few years back because the newer/younger lot that had moved that absolutely did my head in, it was all performative social media b*llocks and bouncing around trying to look like something they're not.

The move to the Itchen North meant it felt far more like the old Dell crowd, but that then got ruined by the same nippers i'd move to escape moved over and turned the Itchen North into the Northam-Lite/a creche.

This season we moved back to the Northam, partly because we wanted to stand, mostly because it was so much cheaper, but like you say it's nigh on unbearable with the brain dead kids.

I've finally lost patience now, the songs about players c*cks, the celebration of going down, the stupid songs that we mocked the skates for in the past like pretending to celebrate goals, and don't get me started on the god awful Liverpool song that gets sung every five minutes.

My group are planning on moving next season - probably to the chapel by the away fans - but honestly i don't really care where we move so long as i'm not in the Northam anymore.

I'm also a lot more cynical about the "red wall", i don't believe that it was done to improve atmosphere, I think it was done to reduce policing costs and allow the club to get more money making schemes like the gulags and champagne bar into the ground.

If the club had actually wanted a better atmosphere they'd have either kept the away fans by the Northam, or they'd have put in safe standing to the back few rows of the chapel as well as the Northam.

European matches and ticket advice please.
at 13:01 12 Feb 2025

I lived in spain for a bit and in that time did all the madrid clubs, the barcelona region clubs and zaragoza.

In the main it was incredibly easy to get tickets, most Spanish games - bar big games like derbys or tourist clubs - don't sell out and in general attendance at spanish games isn't great.

The exceptions to that are the two big clubs, Barca and Real, which is down to the huge numbers of tourists at games (if you think tourists here are an issue then it's on another level for those two), and the basque clubs which have a support much more similar to english support in terms of actually turning up to games.

If you're happy to avoid the two big clubs then you can just buy tickets direct from the club you're going to, and in a lot of cases can even do that on the day.

When i went to see Getafe i'd estimate about a third of their ground was empty and it was incredibly easy to get tickets, i just walked up on the day.

I'd also suggest you avoid the organised package tours for Spanish clubs as they're a total rip off aimed at fleecing tourists, if you're booking a hotel it's often easier just to ask the hotel to sort tickets for you.

As long as they don't sing about grown men's cocks and take part in god awful banter i'd much rather sit with zombies to be honest.

The utter mouth breathers in the northam is unbearable

Yeah i think we've decided we're probably moving too, the "red wall" is f*cking awful and frankly i'd prefer to sit in silence than be surrounded by the people in it.

Put this elsewhere but this is my opinion on it all.

It's been death by a thousand cuts really, I liked Ralph for large periods but by the end he was completely spent, the mistake with him was not getting rid sooner - especially as he said he was off at the end of that season and became a lame duck.

We should've sacked Ralph at the end of the season and spent the summer getting the right man in. We didn't so it went to shit.

Then we brought in Jones, some of the stuff he did i actually still don't think was as terrible as people made out, he kicked the players up the arse which needed doing and he called out our more self entitled parts of fanbase which needed doing, but on the pitch he was fundamentally not even close to being good enough.

Unfortunately once again we waited far too late to get rid of him, which should've happened after the Forest home game when it was obvious how bad he was.

Then we brought in Selles who just felt like SR had basically given up, held their hands up, said "f*cked if we know" and put him in. The major mistake there was bringing in a person who'd never managed a club and expecting them to learn their trade at possibly the worst time you could learn your trade, during a catastrophic relegation battle where what we needed was someone who had been there before (but probably wouldn't have been popular with our more hipster elements in our support).

So obviously we went down and sacked him, that brought in Martin. I still think Martin was the wrong choice from day one but luckily we had a squad good enough to get us up anyway.

I think it was obvious to anyone with half a brain that if Martin continued with his footballing style we'd be torn apart every week, he took a team that conceded a ton of goals and created a small amount in the championship, but managed to win because we had better players, into a league where we'd concede loads of goals, create very few and have significantly worse players.

It was a recipe for disaster.

In my opinion a good owner would've said thanks for promotion and here's your P45 the day after the play offs, but i could sort of understand the logic that said give him a chance in the premier league.

The issue once more came about because we didn't just give him a chance, we hung on way, way too long, put the club in a position that meant we couldn't rescue it, destroyed the players confidence and made us deeply unattractive to any other manager.

So when the finally sacked him and brought in Juric they basically had to bring in a "Mark Hughes" style coach. Juric probably wouldn't have been my first choice.

We had two choices in reality, give up on the season completely, look at the long term and build going forward. For me that choice would've been spending what was needed and getting Rohl in, and given the way Rohl plays it would take time for that to bed so doing it now wouldn't be the worst thing, because if we do sack Juric and go for him we'll potentially f*ck up the start to the championship season.

Or option two get in a pragmatist like Juric who will spot fix the worst things - an inability to attack, playing players in the wrong position, the beaver like approach to damn building through slow, ponderous, insane passing and the woefully poor fitness levels of the squad. But know we'd probably still go down and know that we've got ourselves a fairly bog standard, nothing special but competent manager.

SR obviously went with option two, the big question now is if it goes wrong will they finally learn to act faster. I very much doubt it, and i'm not that confident about coming straight back up next time round either.

I didn't say Stokes was one of the best, i said he was a legend. Because he scored the goal that one us our one and only trophy (and no i don't count the JPT, play offs or Southern league trophies).

There's a universe difference between Stokes winning us the FA Cup and Armstrong winning the 3rd play in the second division trophy
