Marti interview in The Independent
at 13:08 21 Feb 2025

A really good read that.

We're incredibly lucky to have Marti and Xavi, and hopefully he will be here for a very long time.

Yes I do remember us putting one in and they only gave Leeds and Hull the top tier on that occasion, and we sold the whole lower tier to home fans.

Makes we wonder why we don't do it now the lower tier is open permanently to home fans for league games.

I think Ipswich did have to move home fans from their seats cause the PL rule say you have to give 3k seats if it's above 30k or 10% if it's below 30k, whichever is lower.

I was just thinking there surely has to be a better way of getting that whole lower tier opened without the need to net off the first few rows.

I know a lot of it is not the clubs fault, but it does fustrate me, especially as it's revenue we're losing at the end of the day.

I do actually think in an ideal world, that bottom tier would be a good place to put the family stand in given the players come through that area.

I have sat in that area myself and it is quite a reasonable sized concourse and it is under cover as well compared to the Loft Lower so it could be a good place to have it imo.

I know they have to do it for safety reasons, but does anyone think its frustrating that we have to net off the first 3 or 4 rows of seats in the School End Lower when we know that they could be sold.

Surely it makes more sense to put some kind of permanent canopy between the top and bottom, so that those 3 or 4 rows can actually be released for sale.

Rumours about Marti going

Apparently Steve Cooper is interested in taking over there so I think he'd be the preferred option.

Marti - Glasgow Rangers.
at 13:53 17 Feb 2025

People seem to forget Marti and Xavi both signed a long term contract with us back in September, and if he were to go, then it's probably going to be Premier League club.

the buyout clause would run into the millions, and Rangers from what I know arnt in a great financial position, so that will probably put them off.

I think Marti will be here for the foreseeable future.

Marti and Xavi signed new long term deals in September.

The release clause I suspect will be in the millions, so I doubt someone like Rangers will be attractive, they arnt exactly doing well atm.

I think Marti will be us for a long time to come and I think the fact that we stuck by him during that difficult period, makes it more likely he will want to stay longer yet.

That's true Clive, however unless we already have found a replacement, I just dont see how we can let him go.

Dunne off?

Got to bear in mind that weve only just let Santos.

If we let Jimmy go then our only natural RB option for the rest of the season is Ashby and hes a loanee of course.

I just dont see how we let Dunne go given its late in the day and also the fact that we might not be able to get a replacement sorted before the deadline.

He only just joined from the K League so my guess is that Tottenham want to send him out on loan to get experience.

Also, I personally see Dembele being more effective in the 10 rather than as a winger, so i can see why we wanted him to have another option on the right with Smyth.

I do think we need another left back given our only natural options there are Paal and Fox.

It just feels like one of those clickbait articles.

I'm confident enough that he signs.

Adel Taarabt coming back?

Nourry simply would not bring in a 35 year old on massive wages, especially as it doesn't fit the model.

We've got to get away from getting signings in purely cause of nostalga.

This is probably not true, feels like someone leaking a story to try and hurry a deal along.

I'm confident Dunne signs a new deal, he's a major part of the squad, why would he go to Sheff Utd and be a backup?

We do still have 1 loan spot left.

My guess I'd that we will probably use it to get a left back in given we are short in that area.

Plymouth away

Surely it's time for the club to move fully to digital ticketing for away games like we do for home games.

I get it's not ideal for everyone, but it would allow us to pick our own seats and everything, plus it would save a lot of hassle.

I personally would not recall him, we seem absolutely fine in the goalkeeping department at the moment barring any injuries of course.

Would rather see him continue developing with Stevenage than him sitting on the bench with us.
