The pub, the Bramley - Moore, looks proper run down from the outside, but it's ok once within the doors - needs new bogs though. |

There's major construction (was) going on at that station. One of the workers said it was a huge waiting area and trains would be lined up to take fans away after the match, but I couldn't make out the scale of the project. |

About three months ago, I took a walk from the City Centre up through Vauxhall to Bramley-Moore. Aside from passing a number of closed pubs, some unusual dock entrances (also closed)and the largest brick building in the world, there is little of interest until you reach the stadium. It sticks out a mile, actually it would anywhere, except Disneyland. But saying that, it's not ugly, just different, reminded me of an electric shavers head for some reason. The ground still has the old dock wall around it, which I hope they retain and a reminder that the people of Liverpool have the lowest percentage of car ownership as there is very little parking, though I'm partial to the inner city location myself.
Taking a few pics and having a good gawk, I fell into conversation with a couple of Everton fans who'd also popped along for a look, we noted the place looked finished and although there were a number of 'keep out' signs, no hard hats were evident, so we decided to break the law and went in for a look see.
It is a Tardis type experience, the place seems much bigger inside than it does from the exterior (presume they've dug down), and my overall impression was that it had a good football feel to it.
Then we were told to sling our hooks. |
