We played well,, worked hard and created chances, more than Sheff Utd. Most pleasingly we weren't bullied by their physicality. Michi was always prepared to mix it as we knew he would, but the youngsters Yang and Morgan found it hard. They're not used to this level of intensity but still showed some good touches. Saito and Smyth offered more.

The first goal seemed to come from several errors, Yang losing the ball, Paal and Dunne slow to cover Brereton Diaz's run and Nardi should have come off his line. The second was basically a worldie, the sort of goal we conceded at the start this season.

We got no help from the Ref. In general letting the game run is good, but there were too many fouls on Rs players that went unpunished. When Choudhury chopped down Saito in the second half a second yellow would have been justified but we just got the free kick. Wilder saw the risk and hauled
Choudhury of shortly after.

We can be positive about the performance, but still disappointed as we largely matched the Blades. They were pacier and sharper with their chances. They've spent more money and are in line for automatic promotion for a reason. Varane, Colback and Chair all had good games. We still need to find the quicker, progressive passes through midfield and be prepared to run with the ball, but this was hard against a well organised team who pressed very well.

Difficult to choose a MotM, but I think Varane gets it.

I've said this before but we need to stop conceding goals from crosses.
Whether they are crosses or set pieces, we look all at sea every time.
We have players who just don't jump...Paal and Varane the main culprits.
We are 20% away from being a good consistent side.
