Leeds United Confirm Their Kit For Wembley Showdown With Southampton Monday, 20th May 2024 14:30 Saints have not yet announced what kit they will wear for the big game at Wembley on Sunday, but Leeds united have already told their supporters what they will be wearing, read on for more details. Local Leeds media outlet Leedslive.co.uk have confirmed that Leeds will be in their traditional white home kit for the Championship play off final at Wembley on Sunday. They claim that the EFL bases its play-off final kit decisions on the teams’ finishing positions in the table. As United finished third to Southampton’s fourth, they are seen as the home side and will be in all-white, However they are less sure what Saints will be wearing, they are correct when they say that Saints changed to their Black kit for the visit to Elland Road earlier this month and indeed when the Yorkshire side visited St Mary's they too changed from their white home kit. However that does not mean that this will happen for the game at Wembley, clubs these days quite often wear an away strip when there is no need to do so, Saints for example wore their white kit at Hull City when the home side wore Amber & Black with no red at all in their colours. Part of it is based on selling away kits to fans and to do so they need to be seen regularly and part of it is if shorts or socks may clash. So Saints may wish to retain the home shirt & shorts worn this season, neither would clash with Leeds all white, for Wembley, but the clash could be the socks. We of course have played in white socks and this would clash with Leeds's own socks, however it would be fairly easy to change to either wearing the away black socks or indeed wearing red socks., both have been used as home colour socks before. Ideally for Saints they would display their home kit at Wembley, after all a sea of red & white is better if you can sing come on you Red's.
